Cricket is a game of skills and talents, merit and the exercise of wisdom with players mindset. Here in IPL things are challenging and very difficult for any individual player to get hold onto any parameter been discussed. If a team is out of rhythm, it is more likely to lose the game beforehand of play and the combo of solid talented players come of no use in the end.
Five consecutive loss for Delhi Capitals this season and when such sorry figures stand before a team very onset of a tournament, then things are scary and future looks uncertain. They had all the weapons in their arsenal, the highly qualified coaches and the good stock of talents, still they couldnt click and this time against a relatively stronger opposition.

Now,I am not here to bring out the post-mortem of how they faced consecutive defeats one after another, but I think things where the coach and the team management should look forward. There are still tight chances and critical equations left if they want to qualify for the play offs . But, time and again there are things and areas where Delhi as a team fell short of ground.
1. Disorganized Bowling Attack.
Delhi has the class bowling attack and players like Mustafizur Rahman & Nortze are the prime pair in the pace attack. Mustafizur couldn’t be cheaper in terms of keeping runs short, yet when he delivers loose deliveries and shorten the bar with 19 runs in the middle over 10-15 : then it is tough to retain position in the team and at the same time restrict the opposition within a shorter margin.
Mustafiz conceded 41 runs in 3 overs and the captain Warner didn’t have the courage to bowl him th e 4th over, so he doesn’t deserve at such abject performance. Nortze had good control over ball and specially his death yorkers at least reduced 10-12 runs from the grand total of 170+ runs.
In Chinnaswami Stadium it is conceived that the batters would flash their blades once and while and the shorter boundary line indicates even a miss hit would potentially go fly over as six. So,restricting RCB below 180 was an excellent task, but the team strength needed 20 less runs to win and bowlers failed literally.

2. Frequent Batting Collapse.
I was watching the 2nd innings right when I was having my meal right in the time of evening and suddenly I fell in terrible frustration to pick up the exact telephone numbers . In the opening bat powerplay, the scoreline was 3-2. I was in doubt whether it was 2 run for 3 wicket or the opposite, because either one can be possible. Ha ha!
Yet, such numbers tell that, openers had childs play going back then, it was awful. Prithvi Shaw came on crease by impact substitute of The Fizz, and he was gone by duck. The same happened for Mitch Marsh, he also disappeared playing a few balls. And the Dave Warner kite also fell down leaving the bat order to 30-4 at one stage.

Now,if I say it was a catastrophe - that would be outspoken. Because the pitch was dedicated for batters and they couldn’t hold onto their nerves upto the first powerplay. In such high scoring ground, chasing 170 is a simple game, a piece of cake for any weaker bat order. But such big names failed, at the time when the team needed their service most. So pathetic!
3. Lacking A Smart Game Plan.
RCB played well, as for the fact that Kohli & Plessis set the tone of a nice start and Kohli scored a fifty and literally that settled him stable and the team to reach that mark. But bowlers deserve credit to the way they bowled in the powerplay by breaking the backbone of bat order.
RCB succeeded with their exact plan and the execution, whereas Delhi failed. I dont know what was going on during his stay on the crease, but a sober start of 40-45 runs on first 6 overs of powerplay would have given them the foundation to chase down, if Dave warner could play upto 10 overs, they surely could secure a win and the vital 2 points!!

Anyway,if Delhi is to get a ticket to playoff - they must work in the three areas, inevitably. It is a must to repair the wounds in these three depts, coach have to have a solid plan and players need to play their part as well. Hopefully, Delhi would astound the supporters with a glorious win in the next match to come.
