2023-2024 Betting Strategy
Don't fix what isn't broken so the general approach this season will be very similar again trying to get my stakes up without overly taking risks. So I will continue in a very disciplined way closely following the league while making previews for myself on each match including the bets that I take while covering the matches live on the SBC Discord. I will also make a weekly results overview similar to how I have done in the past 7 seasons. This while keeping it real including the bad times as one of the purposes is to avoid going into denial and without starting over even if I would be down a lot aswas the case mid last season which still turned out into a profitable one.
My main bookie/Broker will once again be Sportmarket Pro which is the only thing I really need to 'make a living' as they provide the best odds from different Asian Bookies and exchanges and don't limit winning players. If anything I can highly recommend them to everyone who actually tries to be profitable in betting and never had an issue in over a decade using them!
I will also try to increase my Crypto betting activity as they often have early odds which aren't the sharpest or prop bets which can't be found on the big asian exchanges. The 3 crypto bookies I currently use the most are Sportbet.one / Dexport.io / Rollbit, and I will look out for potential more options.

IMPORTANT: Past results don't guarantee Future Results. Even though I never had a losing season so far handicapping, it only is a matter of time before it comes I would say even though I keep doing what I can to avoid it and make it into another great year.
2024-2025 Preview
This is how I am ranking the teams right now and I won't hesitate to adjust my opinion on a week-to-week basis when I have more info available. This season there are again 16 teams which means 8 matches during a weekend. There will always be 1 match on Friday, 3 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday. All matches will be played separately aside from the evening Sunday games which partially overlap. So I'm able to watch and cover them live.
- Place 1-4: Club Brugge | Genk | Anderlecht | AA Gent
Club Brugge (155M): They became the Champion Last season right at the end despite not playing too well during the regular season and I still see them as the team to beat with the highest quality player base. With Tzolis they also did what looks to be a good transfer and many of their key players stayed with the team.
Racing Genk (120M): I expect good things from Genk this season with a new coach along with Smets & Steackers who came over from Stvv. They have 2 good options as goalkeepers with Van Crombrugge & Penders and enough quality in the offense to be an attractive team. Also they have the advantage over other teams that they don't play in Europe which for a top team generally results in extra points while beating the asian handicaps.
Anderlecht (91M): Anderlecht finished 2nd in the regular season last year and not having to play in Europe really helped them with this. So far they haven't made major moves on the transfer market yet but I do expect it to come. They still need a new 1st goalkeeper and a new defense. I don't see them fully back as one of the title favorites yet as Coach Riemer continues to be under fire while the added matches in Europe will cost them points and maybe the start of the season might show they need enforcement.
AA Gent (75M): I do like the choice for Vrancken as their new coach and see enough quality in AA Gent for them to do ok but at the same time it's not that they are very comfortable on the financial side of things.
- Place 5-8: Antwerp | Union | OH Leuven | Cercle Brugge
Antwerp (88M): Usually, top team who aren't playing in Europe overperform which is why I'm putting Antwerp at place 5. They no longer have the financial means they used to have a couple years back when they became champion and likely there will be some more outgoing transfers. Van Bommel also no longer is coach with De Roeck now in charge which feels like a big downgrade.
Union (87M): This now is the 3rd time where this team loses it's best players and their coach. Previously they always managed to replace everyone in a miraculous way with excellent scouting. However, at some point it feels inevitable that they fall back and no longer play as good as they have been in the past years. I would not be surprised for them to have a much harder time this season.
OH Leuven (31M): I would not be surprised is OHL was one of the revelations this season. They kept their coach and managed to show fighting spirit in the playoffs despite having nothing to play for. I do see a lot of quality with Leysen, Pletincxk, Schrijvers, Maertens, Maziz while they also acquired Verstraete and possibly Balikwisha. So I do see them ready for the new season and capable.
Cercle Brugge (60M): They were the revelation last season with a pressing play but I expect them to have a much harder time this year as they lost multiple key players (Le Marechal, Siquet) while others like Denkey who scored all of their goals might still leave. They possibly also will play in Europe this year which will be too much for the style that they play and very likely will cause them to lose points in the league.
- Place 9-12: KV Mechelen | Standard | Westerlo | KV Kortrijk
Kv Mechelen (20M): Coach Hasi did miracles with this team last season as they are very short on funds to actually get good players. The good thing is that Hasi stayed and he should be able to play on result in many matches but I would be surprised if Mechelen got much closer to the top 6.
Standard (39M): They continue to be a complete mess with the owners not putting any money in and the players they bought so far are ones that didn't even were sure to start at mid-table teams (Konaté, Bolingoli). On top of this, they did lose a lot of quality with Alzate, Kanga, ... which were all players that were loaned. So another very difficult year should be ahead for this team.
Westerlo (41M): Last season they really lived above their standings with many expensive incoming transfers which didn't really perform. I'm not quite sure that this season they are going to be that much better with Simons as their new coach. They surely have the potential to become a revelation especially as some of the key players like Madsen, Bayram, Reynolds would stay. At this point in time I don't have the confidence yet though.
Kv Kortrijk (21M): I actually expect Kortrijk to be better this year and possibly a revelation in that they won't be in major danger of relegation. It looks like they managed to loan a good striker in Ferri which might make a huge difference if he actually turns out into a scoring striker. likely however they are set to lose Kadri which was their main creative player. I do see Kortrijk as potentially an underrated team.
- Place 13-16:
Charleroi (27M): They had a difficult season last year and I don't see them out of nowhere fully get out of problems. They should play more offensive-minded under De Mil and in the past this always resulted in getting too many goals against to really get high in the rankings.
Stvv (21M) They had a year as one of the revelations last season but lost their coach and all their best players. Steuckers, Smets, Koita, Suzuki, Bocat and possibly also Delorges. I would not be surprised for them to have a difficult season because of the big quality loss which never is easy to replace.
Dender (10M): The fact that Simons opted to leave after promoting and go to Westerlo combined with the 10M overall player value should make it unlikely for Dender to really do a lot in 1st League. They also started the preparation really early and are done with their homework as they aim to get much needed points early in the season while most teams are yet building.
Beerschot (9M): The 2nd promoting team also likely is going to have a hard time. Last time they played in the Pro League when they relegated they had no chance whatsoever and they are also the team with the lowest budget it looks like.
Conclusion
There is still a lot that could change as there is a lot of time left in the transfer window. I do expect Club Brugge once again to be just too strong and a very tight midfield and a couple teams that clearly will struggle. If I would name 1 revelation it would be OH Leuven.
