Saturday felt like a return to form at least when picking winners which remains something else than value. The main bet however comfortably won which helped to make it a day with +0.87 units profit. I hope to continue this trend on what looks to be Super Sunday as all the big teams play today.
Club Brugge vs Anderlecht
Club Brugge one again showed what they are capable off as they started great in San Siro until them made 1 mistake which put them behind while they could have been ahead at that point. In the league against weaker teams though they have not really impressed. last week they won with 1-2 from Westerlo but all goals there did not come from actual played out chances. They have all their players available today and I do expect good motivation from them. Anderlecht continues to do ok in Europe winning 2-0 against Ludogorets who took an early red card. Anderlecht started that match with a semi b-squad resting key players like Dolberg, Verschaeren, Sardella, Edozie which needed to help in the end to get the win. Their main weakness right now I would say is in the defense with Vertonghen still injured and Zanka as not good enough. A lot in this match will depend on which Club Brugge will show up. If they are their best version, they should simply be better than Anderlecht but at this point this is no guarantee whatsoever. It's more often that Club Brugge starts matches strong and the only bet that somewhat made sense to me to take was 0.129 units on
Club Brugge 1H -0.25 @ 1.823. I'm quite sure this one will have more in-game betting opportunities.
Antwerp vs Standard
Antwerp has been quietly impressive in their results which got them in 2nd place even though they failed to win last week against OHL crawling back too much after taking the lead in a low xg match. They so far have been very efficient while not giving too much away. They are at just 1.27 goals expected against over the season and 0.8 on average in the last 3 matches. Standard is also very low at 1.15 over the season and 1.00 over the last 3 matches expected against. For Standard it's a small miracle that they are in 9th place with 15 points given the squad they have. They most of the season just focused on keeping things closed defensively which they are capable of and this got them to a 7.5W-3L-0.5P on the under total handicap. They had 1 match at home against Westerlo in week 9 where they tried to play more forward and take risks which resulted in a 1-2 loss and ever since it's been back to "defense only" which yields more results. I keep seeing Standard where regression to the mean is bound to happen at some point so the only real option I have is to oppose them. Key defender Bates also is questionable. I don't expect a wide open match where Antwerp having the ball slowly and cautiously trying to find a gap in the Standard defense without taking too much risks. I took 0.2 units on

Standard Team Total Under 0.75 @ 1.940. Antwerp managed to keep a clean sheet in their 3 last home matches and Standard failed to score so far in 4 of their 5 away games. I'm also leaning on the Antwerp win but am waiting to see more first before possibly getting in.
AA Gent vs Racing Genk
AA Gent continued to ride a crazy luck streak again in the conference league winning somehow in the 95th minute of the match. Kums picked up an injury which is a big blow. Last week they played a flattering 0-0 against Union away as the home team has an issue scoring. This isn't really the case today for Genk who have been a free-scoring team leading the xg table this season at 2.51 on average. Genk last week mainly managed to win thanks to a red card for Stvv and they continued to give chances away which is one of their weak points even though their average xg against isn't that bad at 1.16. I see this as a match where the advantage of not having to play European matches will show but in a way it also reflects in the handicap as Genk is in fact the favorite. I split 0.5 units worth of bets on Genk & the Over this way: 0.05 units on

Union SG vs Cercle Brugge
Union week after week is getting screwed by the fact that they can't score goals while otherwise actually putting up some good performances. So it's pretty much impossible right now to truct and back them. They played their A-squad in Europe this week away against Midtylland where they lost with 1-0 against putting up a good performance without creating major chances. Cercle Brugge clearly chose to focus on the league already bringing a near full B-Squad to Iceland where they also ended up losing by 3-1. The good thing is that they will have their A-Squad fresh today. They are in 2nd last spot which is way below the quality they have in their squad. Their main problem has been that they didn't always look that secure defensively while the fatigue because of the Europe matches was something that also clearly had an impact. The main question I have is if it's worth the gamble on Cercle Brugge to win this one at really high odds as it's something I don't rule out. Union also got a heavy favorite handicap last week against Gent which they ended in a 0-0 match. I do expect Union to be the better team starting with good motivation even though the question remains how much fatigue will affect them and knowing the scoring issue likely won't be solved yet. At the same time Cercle is in a bad streak and not the best situation also showing vulnerability defensively. I'm just going to wait for now and maybe pull the trigger on a tiny bet backing Cercle. Neither a 3+ goal home win or an outright away win would be a surprise for me in this match. I once again will be waiting for a 1H over 4 corners bet similar to last weeks in Union matches.
