The main idea yesterday that it was going to be a slow 1st half was right but Stvv didn't bring enough and failed to create corners which left me with a small loss on the day. 3 matches on Saturday that I will be watching.
Dender vs Beerschot
Dender had a crazy favorable position with a 1-2 lead over OHL in minute 92 which kind of would have put them safe to avoid relegation but they still lost 3-2 to a direct opponent. This now puts them just 1 point clear of the playdown spot with a rather difficult schedule ahead against Union; Genk, and Mechelen. So today against Beerschot who are last it's a must-win game while I can't help to think that the disappointment of last week can really get into their heads. Beerschot remains dead last and often play ok matches that they lose in the end. That was the case against Gent last week where they started really well with high intensity and press. In the end after 2 penalties including one in minute 90 they got screwed again. Despite everything, they seem to be able to still show good motivation and they don't look like a beaten team. At the same time they haven't been that good in away games with just 1 draw and 12 Losses. I'm not sure how to estimate the blow Dender got last week but I can imagine that it kind of could work against them. I do expect 2 teams who at all cost want to win as Dender needs to to avoid the playdowns with a difficult schedule and Beerschot who currently are 11 points behind on place 14 only keep some kind of hope with 3 points. So eventually goals should come but it could take some time. Dender also is a team capable of defending a lead. I do feel like a first away win for Beerschot is possible but at the same time the zero away wins in 13 matches so far makes that gamble a bit too big.

Westerlo vs Charleroi
Westerlo is in a better streak now taking 10 on 12 against direct opponents with especially a solid performance at home against Standard. Last week however against Cercle away they were played away but still managed to get the 1-1 draw. Their matches tend to be forward and open with plenty of goals as they are capable in the offense while their defense always gives too much away. Charleroi is 3 points ahead and I'm quite sure that they would settle with a draw to keep the gap. They have a quality squad but too often lose against themselves as once in the lead they tend to stop pushing. I do expect Westerlo to be the team who takes the initiative while Charleroi might be happy to lure on the counters. I'm tempted by the Westerlo 1H corners handicap but purely based on the stats of both teams there I need a bit better price. I would not be surprised to see a match where Westerlo is better but Charleroi smarter which also is indicated by the high odds on the home team. I don't have the confidence to take anything in this one so

Antwerp vs OH Leuven
Antwerp played an ok match at home last week but crawled back after a 2-0 lead letting Kortrijk back in the match in the 2nd half. The week before against Anderlecht away they played an ok 1st half but totally collapsed in the 2nd. The week before at home against Brugge, they won but it was a total holdup. So overall my sentiment about Antwerp is kind of mixed as they have the potential to put up a good performance but rarely do it for 90 minutes and against better teams they simply fall short. Their xg against also remains extremely high. OHL has shown to be a very dull team who potentially have a great defense but lack offensive quality. They are without Schrijvers today who was important in the key win against Dender last week. They now do have Mijatovic who might solve the offensive issue and Verlinden also will be back. The question for me is if I have enough trust in Antwerp to back them at a -0.25 1H line and the answer is no. OHL with an eye on safety likely would sign for a draw today. Also here, I'm just going to wait and see how it plays out before possibly taking something.
