I saw the news about David Coote the Premiership referee being suspended and actually did not read the article. I then saw a video clip a few hours later on X (Twitter) where he calls Liverpool fans a name and voices his personal opinion of Jurgen Klopp calling him the C word. If you wanted to end a refereeing career then this is a good start. The question is when you have everything how can one be so stupid.

Firstly you have to be a complete moron to upload a video and not expect consequences at some point as these things have habit of coming back to bite you. Yes the video is not current as Jurgen Klopp left Liverpool last season, but that does not hide the fact that he said these things.
I remember in my reffing days the first point you take on board is you have to be impartial and never have a team you support over others. What was funny at the time was I was an English born South African that would never be allowed to referee a game in which England was playing. I thought that was a bit harsh at the time as I had never been an England fan in the first place. I was legitimately 100% impartial and would have made no difference in who I refereed because it is about making the correct calls and nothing else.
When this is your chosen career you have to be the best you can and your judgements not clouded over by whether you like a particular team or not. I took this to another level and had no favorite sporting teams and watched the game for the love of the sport.
When I hear a referee saying he hates a certain team or a certain manager then in my view he is not fit to be a referee because he has built in prejudices against teams he is in charge of. He s damaged goods now and you cannot say you can referee these matches, but not these teams because of your bias.
The stupidity of ending a career where you earn in excess of £100K-£200K per year. This does not include match fees which could see another £100K added to that total so a salary in the region of £250-300K for something you really love. David Coote looks as though he has thrown this away because he wanted to act big and look cool to his friends. He did clearly say that you cannot post this, but someone obviously never listened and leaked this.
He is 42 years of age and has been refereeing in the Premiership for the last 6 years so what does an unemployed 42 year old do next wo is used to earning a high wage? What a total fool because now he knows what he has lost over a bad judgment call doing a stupid video clip. This is the ultimate FAFO moment. Some were saying he looks high in the clip, but that is no excuse as this has ruined his career.
