I am beginning to see positive changes in the sports sector of my country which gives me unimaginable joy. You can't understand how I feel right now about this new development because I know we are on the right track to greatness in sporting industry.
I could remember back in my childhood days I had lot of passion for sports I was a good runner and also a good footballer I could spend time running or playing football and never get tired, I saw the bright side of this passion but sadly was not able to continue because of no facility to carry out training it became very difficult no stadiums at all to showcase our giving talents.
The facilities available back then where not really accessible they where bad, no renovation infact it was very difficult, we will have to travel miles to the next city just to have those beutiful facilities. Thanks to our present government for thinking about grassroots sports development.
Do you know we now have one of the best stadiums in Nigeria and Africa at large? I mean a stadium that carries 30,000 fans plus good staff accomodations, table tannies Court, basketball court and training area for teams the stadium is located in the heart of uyo the state capital of Akwa-ibom state in Nigeria, we have hosted some foreign teams and the joy of going to seat down comfortably to watch the live match was really magical.
Now as if that was not enough the present government just mounted another structure in the city of eket. Eket is another local government area still under Akwa-ibom state and here in Eket we have Ibeno beach that is linked to the red sea and this city is where the state gets oli from and has offices of Chevron oil, Mobile oil, Total oil and lots more oil companies operating in the states. The present government under the leadership of Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel they built a new 18,000 capacity stadium in the city of Eket. The stadium is set to be commissioned on may next year.
This has brought calmness to the sports sector of the state. And in few years to come I see this country producing more good players, athlete, and many sports men and women because we are now exposed to modern facilities. Am happy because that my childhood dream of running on international grown will finally come to pass.
Nigeria has lots of talent in sports but are lacking behind in the unavailability of modern facilities which i know is a thing of the past with the emergence of the very beutiful sports stadium in Akwa-ibom state Nigeria. Coaches can easily get access to this facilities and train Thier teams to be best and face the world, just wait and see next world cup and common wealth games you will see the participation of Nigerians and it will shock you😁😁😁
