Finally, the Carabao Cup Final is here!

The big cruncher tie between Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Before delving into the preview of the game, let’s remind ourselves of how both teams got to the final.

Chelsea saw off Aston Villa and Southampton on penalty shootouts, before defeating Brentford by 2 goals to nil.

They then defeated Tottenham Hotspur by 3 nil in a double-legged semifinal tie.

Liverpool on the other hand defeated Norwich City and Preston North End before they got a penalty shootout win over Leicester City in a feisty contested quarterfinal clash.

They eventually made it to today’s final after they got a well-deserved 2 nill Semifinal double-legged victory over Arsenal.

Having gotten the summary above, let’s move straight to the preview, shall we?

CHELSEA:

Head To Head Under Thomas Tuchel: 1 fact that stands in favor of the Boys In Blue.

Under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea have played Liverpool on 3 good occasions.

And in none of the occasions have they suffered defeat.

These ties have ended in 1 win and 2 draws, with the last being an entertaining 2 all draw at the Bridge.

This fact should provide some sort of confidence for the Blues don’t you think?

Head To Head In Cup Ties: Another fact that tilts this game in favor of Thomas Tuchel’s side.

The last 5 meetings between both sides in cup competitions have ended in 3 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss for the Blues.

An encouraging fact, isn’t it?

You can bet they, Chelsea, will be looking to feed on this motivation as well.

Runs of Games In Finals: I last fact we can’t but mention in support of the Blues.

Bar their slim 1 nil loss to Leicester City in the FA Cup final last year, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea have been phenomenal in winning finals.

In fact, they’ve won all 3 of the recent finals they’ve gotten to since the loss stated above.

Winning a 4th consecutive final and earning their 3rd trophy of the season will be a massive achievement for them.

Certainly another huge boost for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

What do you think, guys?

LIVERPOOL:

Overall Competitive Games Head To Head: A strong argument for the Reds.

Chelsea might look to have the better head-to-head against Liverpool under Tuchel and in Cup games, they are worse off if we look at both teams’ overall meetings.

Looking at the last 10 encounters between both sides, Jurgen Klopp’s side have won 4, drawn 4, and lost only 2.

1 of the wins above include a UEFA Super Cup penalty shoot-out victory.

This fact should provide the Reds with some confidence if you will agree with me.

Current Performance: The big one itself.

The Reds are currently on 9 games winning streak defeating the likes of Arsenal and Inter Milan on the way.

This run have also seen them score 25 goals and conceded just 3.

You need no one to tell you this team is worth being dreaded at the moment, do you?

CONCLUSION:

From the above, Liverpool looks more certain to come out victorious.

But Chelsea’s superb winning mentality in the finals shouldn’t be downplayed either, you can ask Manchester City about their UCL experience.

The game is set to commence today, 5:00 PM GMT.

Grab a bucket of Popcorn with some iced juice and enjoy the game.
