Plymouth Argyle welcomes Liverpool to their home ground for this 4th round of the FA CUP fixture. It's a game that could increase Liverpool's chances of winning quadruple this season although many people are of the opinion that Liverpool should focus on bigger trophies.

For me, I want Liverpool to give their best in all competition. So, this is a game I wished we would take seriously and also win.

Well, the line up that Liverpool highlighted for this fixture had only Diaz as the regular player in it. Even the bench was filled with a lot of younger players who haven't been opportuned to step into the senior squad of Liverpool, except Jones and Nunez.

First Half

Liverpool took a huge hit within the first 7 minutes of the game. Gomez who is just returning back from injury after missing several weeks of football got clipped and had to be substituted immediately.

The tackle on him felt nasty and it would be a surprise if he bounce back in less than 2 weeks.

The rest of the first half was genuinely boring for any Liverpool fan that watched it. I understand we are playing with our weak XI and with a bunch of really young players. However, the game play from the lads was very poor.

The only positive I could take away from this half of the game is that it ended without Liverpool conceding a goal. We would need to do everything better in the next half if we want to win the game.

Second Half.

It felt like Liverpool would be having a better experience in the second half of the game. However, things took a wild turn before we could fully settle into the second half.

Yeah!

Elliot just had to get punished for a handball he committed in Liverpool's box. It was a schoolboy mistake from Elliot. I can't even defend him for that. We ended up conceding a penalty from that and Kelleher couldn't save it.

That was the goal that pushed Plymouth ahead.

Honestly, there's really nothing else to talk about for the rest of the game. Liverpool sure had their moments, but couldn't score from any of those.

We struggled to get our shots or crosses past Plymouth's players, especially those in their backline. Even when we successfully cracked their backline, we struggled to get a ball into the net because their goalkeeper was having a solid performance.

We couldn't score a goal in the whole 90 minutes of the game. We also couldn't get a goal in the 9 minutes extra time given at the end of the 90th minute.

Well, losing this game and being knocked out of FA Cup means that any talk of Quadruple is already over.

Now, let's focus on other competitions.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

I understand teams have a lot to play for but every season we see big teams go away to lower leagues and not putting out even a half strength team thinking they can roll over a team of players who are in their cup final and are going to be really up for it, hope we don’t suffer the same fate on Tuesday vs Exeter! !BBH

It was also a very shock match for me because I was rooting for Liverpool to actually win the cup. But well sometimes football is unpredictable
