While the fixtures have been getting intense and eventful in Club football, things are becoming even more eventful at the moment. I've watched Liverpool play two games per week since the end of the previous international break and we are up for another midweek fixture today.
This is a game Liverpool should be winning after having a good game against Real Madrid and Manchester City in the fixtures that were played a week ago. Our game of the mid-week is against Newcastle United.
First Half;
This part of the game was a tactical battle for both sides. It was an intense midfield battle, with both teams pressing and closing down each other in the 1st half. The ref was also very busy because of all the tackles.
Newcastle ended up beating Liverpool's midfield and it didn't take much for them to break Liverpool's backline afterwards. Isac capitalized on that to put Newcastle ahead with a goal in the 34th minute of the game.
That goal left a sour taste in the mouth of Liverpool fans before heading into the halftime break.
Tough stuff!
Second Half;
This half of the game is where each team lost their chill and decided to push each other beyond borders. Liverpool scored the first goal in this half of the goal to get a 1 - 1 equalizer. The goal came from Curtis Jones while the assist came from Salah.
Getting an equalizer wasn't enough for Liverpool. Everyone watching that game expected Liverpool to go on and get a win. The next goal that came wasn't a Liverpool goal though. It was a goal by Newcastle. He sat down Quansah and Gomes to score that and push the scoreline to a 2 - 1 advantage for them.
As if that wasn't enough, Newcastle pushed on and scored an additional goal. This would have pushed the scoreline to 3 - 1. However, it was ruled out for offside.
It was at that moment that Liverpool stepped up to the occasion and scored two goals in quick succession. Both goals were scored by Salah, and each of the assists for the goals came from Trent. That last goal came in the 83rd minute.
What a turn-around for Liverpool, right?
You wish!
Liverpool couldn't hold things together for the few minutes that were remaining in the game. This time around, the defensive error came from Kelleher. He doesn't make mistakes often. However, this particular one came at a very bad time.
The game ended as a 3 - 3 draw between Newcastle and Liverpool. It would be interesting to see how the next couple of games would be for Liverpool.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.
