It's quite early to talk of teams winning trophies this season but at the same time, it's quite difficult to overlook the turnout of some likes like Manchester United and Arsenal at the moment.
Lot of people are actually saying Arsenal is yet to play any meaningful match this season and not until they engage Manchester United this weekend, then they could talk about them having a good season or not.
On the other hand, United had a very terrible start this season and as a fan, I am gradually seeing our current team with a pretty future even inside this season perhaps it's too early to see such but I really can't help but to see!
It's was a night of Victory for United yesterday and a terrible one for Leicester City, as somehow, I was scared for Rodgers that he cloud get sacked but I at the same time, I think it won't be for losing against United, his team just needs to do better in their next match.
The reasons why I feel United could be open for a trophy this season are.....
Firstly, I would love to commend Ten Hag for his courage to keep the likes of Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw, and Wan Bissaka out of the starting squad; not that all these players are actually bad but I feel they need more time off to work on themselves and now having the competitors they have now would really help them improve too.
My second source of conviction lies with the signings Ten Hag was able to pull through this season. United now has more depth in the team and mental strength needed from the defence line is gradually growing up with Martinez and Varane helping fans to remember the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Vidic when they were United's players.
Aside from Varane and Martinez, we also have Malacia who is just as aggressive as Martinez with and on the ball. There are kind of defenders needed in the team and with them, United won't just be strong defensively but then the club should be able to secure more clean sheets.
Have you thought of the qualities in the midfield too?
I was sincerely happy watching Bruno, Erikson, and Scott in the midfield yesterday. The combination of Bruno and Erikson was just so strong and convincing, both of them could easily make fine passes and could also decide the test the keeper at any point in time.
Erikson winning the man of the match last night was actually well deserved and I'm sure more is coming his way with time.
Now, the sense of creativity in the midfield is quite impressive but Ten Hag seems to still be testing his defensive midfielders; I personally feel Casemiro would eventually become the started in that position but then, it would be fair to have Fred and Scott perform sometimes too.
No matter how pretty or healthy United might look for now, trust me, there are still some problems lying around within the club.
Despite the win last night, they were still some fans who still want the Glazers to sell the club, that's definitely going to be a topic for another day but let's know of the problem that's really evident at the moment....
United needs to score more goals!
It's not a new thing to the huge fans of Manchester United and the EPL that the tradition of the Manchester clubs is scoring goals; even if they have to concede, they just have to keep scoring more and that's how they keep appearing like the dominant beast that they are.
There's so much to be done with United's attacks and I don't think the likes of Rashford and Elanga are ready for the true call this season yet.
Rashford played below expectations last night and Cristiano who later came in in the second half out performed Rashford considering their attempts.
Though, I prefer Ronaldo not starting more matches but as it seems Rashford doesn't seems like one who's ready for the job at hand yet. Having Antony and Sancho on the wings would be a big threat and at the same time a big waste of there isn't a good CF to maximize the creativities.
For a test, I would love to see Antony, Ronaldo, and Sancho as the front three perhaps against Arsenal in the weekend.
