Good day everyone, happy weekend to us all I hope we are having a good weekend especially a weekend full of sporting activities and lots of sports news, exciting infact. Talking about exciting news in the world of sport, I will like to discuss and have a little or close look at the news of Conor Mcgregor getting a tittle shot comeback against the welterweight champion Kamaru Usman who is also the pound for pound P4P king in the UFC.

I will like to divide this into three different sections,
first does Conor Mcgregor worth getting a tittle fight at the moment?
second section is that is a move to Welterweight a good decision for him?
Third section is that can he beat Kamaru Usman like he said he would?
Before we move on let me brief what he said down in some few words.
“According to the UFC Conor Mcgregor is eyeing a comeback fight to be a tittle shot against the welterweight champion Kamaru Usman who he described as a jab happy, sloppy orthodox wrestler without submission skills and so he doesn't see any danger with him. He continued saying he wants to become the first person to become three weight class champion in UFC history.”
The Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman responded tweeting on Twitter on two post saying “he said he's gon do what” on another “Do you all want a murder scene in the octagon #P4P king” he ended it with some laughing emojis.
Of course lots of UFC and MMA fans have come out to share their opinions on what Conor Mcgregor said, some saying he had too much whiskey to drink, another saying Kamaru Usman will smash him, but some Conor Mcgregor fans believes he can actually pull it off and beat Kamaru Usman.
Enough said let's go straight to the three sections of discussion I mentioned earlier.
Does Conor Mcgregor deserves a tittle shot?
The big question everyone has been asking does he actually deserves a tittle shot after losing back to back and his last relevant victory was years back. If I were to share my opinion on biased and based on UFC protocol I feel he doesn't deserve a tittle shot not even in any weight class talk more of welterweight with the kind of losing streak he is one. If he wants a tittle shot at welterweight and believes he can beat the champion then he had to go back in line and fight guys like khamzat chimeav who is also building is hype but not too many fight deserving a tittle shot yet(just to make that clear, lol), we have gilbert burns, luque, masvidal, leon edwards and colby covington at least to get through before getting a shot at the champion.
The thing is I won't be surprised if Dana white gives him a tittle shot because he knows he has a loyal fan base who would buy the Pay per view ticket and bring lots of money, so we all have to see what Dana think about the matchup.
Is moving to welterweight a good move for Conor Mcgregor?
Another interesting question is that would moving up two weight class up to welterweight be a good move, because we have seen how he looks and faired when he moved up to fight Dustin pioreir, Kahbib and also during the Nate Diaz fight he looked a little bit slower and gassed out in those fightso would moving up more to 170 pounds be a good move for him, won't he be more slower and smaller, and also gas out when he faces guys like Colby covington and Kamaru Usman with a lot of tank and wrestling. We have seen what Kamaru Usman Jabs can do. we have seen it drop guys like Gilbert burns, Colby covington so how would Conor Mcgregor fair moving up to that weight class. That's a question that can only be answered if we see him move up eventually.
Can he beat Kamaru Usman?
I won't like to make my predictions on sentiments so I will try and look at different angles to this.
First Conor Mcgregor is not in a good form and active at the moment, unlike Kamaru Usman who is very active and on a winning streak against top contenders.
Another angle to it is that Conor Mcgregor is not used to welterweight and has not fought in the weight class before, but Kamaru Usman has been a welterweight all his life so he his used to it and good and can only get better in that weight class.
Another angle is that Kamaru Usman is a good wrestler and he might not be a great striker but we have seen the damages he has done with his striking to opponent that were tagged a better striker than him, we saw this against Masvidal, Covington, Gilbert . Conor mcgregor on the other hand is a great striker and not so good with takedown defenses, we saw how Khabib choked him out, so how can he defend against a bigger Kamaru Usman with longer reach and heavier punches and jab if he decides to throw punches with him.
On these notes I will say in my own opinion Kamaru Usman has a very clear advantage over Conor Mcgregor, but who knows anything can happen in MMA, but if the fight happens it will definitely be a good fight.
Thank you for reading, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
