Oh today is a special day.
Normally, I'd let @kenechukwu97 do the honors but I'm just so moved.
My schedule doesn't usually allow me catch games but my schedule today was anything but usual and I found myself completely free to cheer for the reds at my little version of Anfield stand.
The game started and immediately we went full drive, Manchester's City's loss to Brighton pushing us forward to claim that 5 points lead.
Indeed the match burst aflame as Nunez slid the ball through the keeper at the twentieth minute.
The match was on and Villa was feeling the heat. Their manager was on his 3rd loss and the players didn't want anymore.
Liverpool after their one goal became very defensive and I finally saw first hand how we've been winning these past few weeks.
The second half came on and Villa were seriously on pressure.
They came on more aggressively and Liverpool met them with a solid defense.
I definitely loved Bradley on the right, he held Villa's captain tight, stopping crossed and/or deflecting them.
Trent's injury was unfortunate but it seems Slot has really trained all the men that no one would be severely missed.
Kelleher was phenomenal too with his saves and I'm actually thinking of switching Raya with him as my substitute Keeper on FPL.
At the 80th minute, Villa went in even harder, not caring for decorum and trying everything for that 1 goal.
Their aggressiveness worked against them as Liverpool launched a quick counter. The defender who admittedly has been troubling Salah made a costly mistake that wasn't missed.
It was all over in a matter of seconds. 2-0, Anfield was thundering, I was shouting.
After this secomd goal it was already over, 3 more minutes plus four minutes extra time.
Slot switched Mac Allister with Endo to strengthen the defense, Villa did two more desperate pushes, one which turned to another counter and one stopped completely by Kelleher before the final whistle was blown.
It was a clear game of letting the Win come to you.
Liverpool, top of the league, 5 Points away, 15 goal difference, 6th clean sheet and Mohammed Salah, showing us again and again, why he's the King of the Kop and a must have in your FPL.
The matches of interest for me tomorrow is Tottenham and Chelsea.
To be honest, I'm wondering about Arsenal, would Chelsea win and we'll see a new line up at top 3.
Or would the bottling Cannon try their luck in closing in for Second place.
I wonder how Nottingham would do too, hopefully I see another Spiderman display from Sels and some creative display from Wood.
I'll be very honest. Between Tottenham and Ipswich, I'm rooting for Ipswich.
Their tenacity is incredible and I'm so much in love with their style of play. Yet it's almost unrealistic that they'll win Tottenham tomorrow, yet I do hope they don't get relegated (Take ManU Instead ohh Premier League God's 😂🔥)
Regardless, those are games and thoughts for tomorrow.
Today though, Anfield as always is blazing red, Salah is king and the Liverpool Bird is perched comfortably at the top.
