Hello and welcome to another Sportstalk Curation Showcase with a twist on this edition as we have added a few posts from the WorldCup22 tribe. With so many posts coming through the feeds it only makes sense to combine both on this edition. This is all about sport and highlighting those who are involved is what this is all about. The following posts are all live meaning they fall within the 7 day window of curation.
Hive Fantasy World Cup - Preview of Groups G and H
@hivefpl has turned their attention to the World Cup as the Premier League is on a World Cup break until late December. The posts the team puts together are seriously informative and give you an insight into what we may expect play out for the rest of the tournament. No one can account for upsets as this is on the day and more like a one off cup game for some teams. This @hivefpl post covers teams from the pools G and H and maybe more of us should have paid attention to them before we started to guess our predictions.
@amirtheawesome1 always comes up with some interesting fact that I didn't know before reading the post. This post he highlights a number of things, but the one that struck me was the story of Hayya Cards which have resulted in empty seats at the World Cup. If you are travelling to a country you have to pay for a visa and the cheaper route for many is to buy a ticket to a World Cup game giving you access to a cheaper visa option called a Hayya card. This is not people not wanting to attend the match or a group of people protesting by not going leaving their seat empty, but visitors going to Qatar saving money using another Visa option. Who would have guessed this and thanks to @amirtheawesome1 has given you the answer making you more knowledgeable lol.
The Champions League "Curse" Has Been Broken | France Breaks the Curse! - Fifa World Cup Journal
@korver highlights how history plays a part in sports with this case the previous World Cup winners being eliminated at the following World Cup group stages. Sports teams are aware of these types of facts as they are a superstitious bunch generally. France has smashed the superstition this World Cup by qualifying for the next round which is good for the next World Champions whoever they are.
Summary of date 3 - 4 Qatar 2022: Group G - H - A - B [ESP-ENG] 3 Comments / 10+ views
@mvl2304 is no stranger to the Sportstalk tribe as he always produces a quality post on whatever he writes. This is a summary of day 2 in the World Cup and is on another level as he misses nothing out. This shows dedication as he is paying attention to every minute of every game and is a true football fan.
There could be advantage with the VAR.
@bntcamelo highlights that games can be manipulated by the Virtual Assistant Referee (VAR). When humans are involved anything is possible and yes they could turn a blind eye to a foul, but then again you have billions of people watching what they are watching. These days there is nowhere to hide on a bad call that can change the outcome of a game. I understand why FIFA are not releasing the VAR audio as in football this will not happen. Other sports we hear what is being discussed, but never in football which is something to possibly change. The sooner this happens the better for the support as there is always a thought of cheating going on somehow as there is no transparency.
Thanks once again for all the contributors and those that are filling the feeds constantly. This has been a great time for all football lovers as who doesn't enjoy an upset or two. Could we see a surprise winner this tournament as that would make it more interesting. Until next time have a great week and stay active.
