Legacy: The true story of the L.A. Lakers
@normie.fitness this week brings us a documentary about the LA Lakers which is something we are starting to see more and more now. Sporting documentaries take us deep inside the sporting team and it's culture and why they are so fascinating. You don't have to be a fan of that particular sport or that team as just being a lover of sports brings a new understanding. I am no basket ball fan, but this is something that appeals to me as you learn new training methods or possibly a different way maybe to approach problems as this is what all professional sporting teams do. I found the episodes on Youtube for anyone interested in watching this series.
Do Portugal really play well without their star man?
@jimah1k raises a relevant topic regarding a team that Ronaldo is playing in. Does a team player better with or without him is the question? I have mentioned this before saying Portugal are a stronger team without him. Anyone who hogs the ball and wants to be the center of attention can also be detrimental to the team and that is how I see it. The last game Portugal played they looked an entirely different team as they played as a team and it showed. When players don't realise they are no longer the player they used to be it is sad to see and it is the coaches who need to be blamed for this as well. This World Cup was more about personal landmarks than the team and one could argue this has been happening for his entire career.
The world cup has exceeded my expectations so far.
@niallon11 talks about the World Cup and how enjoyable this event has been thus far. The unpredictability of the results which no one saw coming let alone the big teams who have already flown home. This is great for sport as any team left in the tournament has a chance to raise the trophy. All it takes is winning 3 games now being in the knockout stage so one bad performance will send you packing. Politics will always be in sport especially in the big events like this as this is how they obtained the right to host the event in the first place. This unfortunately has been at the expense of the fans which should always be a major factor when selecting a host country and not the dollars being waved around. Still I have to agree with @niallon11 this has been an enjoyable tournament to watch on television.
@korver discusses the quarterfinal between France and England where he favors France. The only thing against what he raises is the French temperament which is often their weakness. The French are known for this and this is their biggest hurdle to over come. Predictions have all gone out the window this tournament as we have seen some major upsets so any result is possible and would definitely not be betting on any of these matches.
Once again I would like to thank all the contributors who have made this post possible. Until next time stay busy and keep on commenting and engaging as that is the secret of how to grow on Hive.
