Marc Cucurella expressed his "angry" feelings that Chelsea and Arsenal could only draw; the Spaniard believed that our impressive display should have earned us all three points. At Stamford Bridge, the Blues had a two-goal lead over our London rivals before Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard's goals late in the game gave the Gunners a share of the victory. The two goals Arsenal scored came from mistakes made by Chelsea, and Cucurella was more enraged by the way we lost the match than by the team's performance, which the left-back called very good. Really, the emotion is one of rage.
Marc Cucurella thought about the game after. Even though we were in control of the game, it seems like a loss even though we drew. We performed really well as a team, but we still need to work on better game management since we should have won and seen the outcome through. I'm upset that we didn't win because the players gave a great effort that was worthy of three points.
A very strong team punished us for our two blunders. Because we are a young club and this is the Premier League, I believe we need to work on and become better at giving up goals due to mistakes. Cucurella urged on the Blues to concentrate on their performance levels and build on it from now until the conclusion of the season as we try to climb the Premier League table. Despite not capturing all three points, Cucurella believes there are plenty of positives to take away from the game. Our number three continued, "We played well, and there are definitely positives to take." We will win a lot of games if we perform at this level for the remainder of the season.
We are disappointed with the outcome, as I mentioned, but overall we are pleased with the performance. We need to carry this confidence into the next game. It gives us confidence. Although we only managed one point, which is insufficient against a team like Chelsea, we can still feel pleased of our performance and make improvements. We can have a successful season if we continue to play like this. There are still plenty of games to be played and points to be earned—we have only played eight or nine games. We must continue to develop and get better.
