Thiago Silva, the team's veteran, has discussed how Mauricio Pochettino's younger players are benefiting from his unique perspective as they mature and gain mutual understanding ahead of schedule. In the little more than three years after moving from Paris Saint-Germain to Stamford Bridge before of the 2020–21 season, the seasoned defender has witnessed significant change at Chelsea.
The Blues team he joined also had a young vibe, even though they had been playing together in our Academy for a long time and had a lot of seasoned international players in the ranks. After a thorough roster overhaul under the new ownership, a large portion of the players Thiago Silva will be working with at Cobham in 2023–2024 are new to the team this season. The necessity of creating a new team virtually from start with the goal of achieving long-term success, however, is somewhat reminiscent of a previous encounter in the distinguished Brazilian's career. "It's a new scenario," the 39-year-old acknowledges. I was only hopping on the boat as it set sail, even though, for instance, the team was assembled in Milan. Since I joined PSG during the second season under the Qatari owners, the circumstances there were identical to these. Together with the other players, we were able to assemble a successful PSG squad.
After I started working here, the team was already put together, and despite a few setbacks, things eventually started to go well. However, I'm now in a completely different position. Being the oldest player on the team, I believe Chelsea has the youngest squad in the Premier League overall, as does the league as a whole. A large number of our players had to acclimatise as well; many were from leagues other than the Premier League. Not everything has gone as planned; Thiago Silva and the club had a challenging season last year, especially towards the end. Though he acknowledges that the newcomers to the team both on and off the pitch this season have brought new energy and passion, he feels the players have never wavered in their resolve to get better.
Thiago, who is still eager to return to competing for trophies with Chelsea as soon as possible, is undoubtedly pleased by that. Unlike most of his fellow Blues, he is nearing the conclusion of his career and is anxious to make the most of his remaining playing time. In fact, one of the most crucial lessons he is eager to impart to his teammates this season is this sense of urgency. I wind myself up because I don't have as much time as they do. I'm very hard on myself since I can't win, go home happy, or have a contented life. I can now deal with this state of affairs a little better. Regardless matter what has transpired in your life, you must constantly be giving it your all. Give it your all and try your hardest because, although it may appear like they have a long way ahead of them, they won't have another chance. Therefore, it's definitely to our advantage if we can do the task as effectively as possible. Based on the advancements achieved thus far, particularly in the past month, it appears that Thiago Silva's guidance and the high expectations he sets are having an effect on his junior colleagues. May it last for a long time as we strive to build on these achievements and add yet another prosperous chapter to the outstanding career of the Brazilian.
