Different refrigerator failures

En esta ocasión les voy a seguir hablándoles de las fallas comunes que se pueden presentar en las neveras, en escritos anteriores les comenté acerca de cómo confirmar que un relé está dañado y cómo podemos determinar si necesitan de un mantenimiento, para mejorar su rendimiento.
On this occasion I will continue talking about the common failures that can occur in refrigerators, in previous writings I told you about how to confirm that a relay is damaged and how we can determine if they need maintenance to improve their performance.
En este post les explicaré de otras fallas que se han presentado en neveras, de algunos clientes que durante mi recorrido de mi carrera como técnico me ha tocado buscar y corregir.
In this post I will explain other failures that have occurred in refrigerators, some customers that during my career as a technician I have had to find and correct.
En una oportunidad un vecino me habló de un amigo que tenía problemas con su nevera. El compresor se apagaba cada 3 minutos y pasaban otros 10 minutos y se volvía a encender, por esta razón procedí a revisar el relé y el klixon, ambos estaban en buenas condiciones.
On one occasion a neighbor told me about a friend who had problems with his refrigerator. The compressor would turn off every 3 minutes and after another 10 minutes it would turn on again, for this reason I proceeded to check the relay and the klixon, both were in good condition.
Luego con la pinza del amperímetro la coloqué en uno de sus cables del compresor para comprobar su amperaje de consumo, con este procedimiento me di cuenta que estaba muy alto y por consiguiente el térmico se disparaba para protección del motor.
Then with the ammeter clamp I placed it on one of its compressor wires to check its amperage consumption, with this procedure I realized that it was very high and therefore the thermal was triggered for motor protection.
Procedí a buscar el capacitador de la nevera, hay algunas neveras que no traen capacitador, está era una de ellas, le comenté al cliente que comprara uno de 12,5 microfaradios, con dos terminales para conectarlo al relé del compresor.
I proceeded to look for the capacitor of the refrigerator, there are some refrigerators that do not bring capacitor, this was one of them, I told the customer to buy one of 12.5 microfarads, with two terminals to connect it to the compressor relay.
Se le colocó el capacitador, su consumo de trabajo bajó y el compresor empezó a trabajar perfectamente.
The capacitor was placed, its power consumption dropped and the compressor began to work perfectly.
Este capacitador tiene dos conectores, se toman dos pedazos de cables como de 10 o 15 cm aproximadamente y se les coloca terminales en cada punta.
This capacitor has two connectors, take two pieces of wire about 10 or 15 cm approximately and terminals are placed at each end.
Luego se procede a conectarlo uno en cada extremo del capacitador y las otras puntas lo debemos enchufar en cada extremo del relé PTC.
Then proceed to connect one at each end of the capacitor and the other ends we must plug it into each end of the PTC relay.
Otra falla que me tocó corregir de otro cliente que su nevera le congelaba pero no enfriaba en el conservador, inmediatamente me dirigí a chequear el reloj y estaba bien, posteriormente se procedió a revisar bimetálico y resistencia.

El bimetálico efectivamente estaba dañado y por tal razón no pasaba la señal para prender la resistencia, se procedió a cambiarlo y finalmente se corrigió la falla de la nevera.
The bimetal was indeed damaged and therefore did not pass the signal to turn on the resistance, we proceeded to change it and finally corrected the failure of the refrigerator.
Para confirmar o chequear si un reloj (timer), está en óptimas condiciones, procedemos a introducir por un orificio que tiene en el centro, un destornillador de pala pequeño y con giros muy lentos en dirección de las manecillas del reloj hasta lograr oír un sonido de tac, el compresor debería de apagarse en ese momento y a partir de ese momento tomamos un tiempo entre 20 o 25 minutos, durante el cual debería de prender nuevamente el compresor.
To confirm or check if a clock (timer), is in optimal conditions, we proceed to introduce through a hole that has in the center, a small blade screwdriver and very slow turns clockwise until you hear a sound of tac, the compressor should turn off at that time and from that moment we take a time between 20 or 25 minutes, during which the compressor should turn on again.
En ese lapso de descanso del compresor el reloj envía la señal al bimetálico para prender la resistencia para el deshielo del condensador, este es el proceso de verificación del reloj, el bimetálico y la resistencia.
In that period of rest of the compressor the clock sends the signal to the bimetal to turn on the resistor for defrosting the capacitor, this is the process of verification of the clock, the bimetal and resistance.
