Rear derailleur service (ENG/ESP)

How are you friends of hive today I will do a necessary service to the rear derailleur of my bike that I have not done anything for a long time and has gone through dirt, mud, water, and degreaser when I wash the bike and it's time to give it a good review so let's go to it!

Que tal amigos de hive el día de hoy le haré un servicio ya necesario al descarrilador trasero de mi bicicleta que ya hace tiempo no le he echo nada ha pasado por tierra, barro agua, y desengrasante cuando lavo la bicicleta ya es momento de darle una buena revisada así que vamos a ello!.

The first thing I did to start with the service to the derailleur was to wash the whole area to remove the most excess dirt and soil with wax, which has the particularity of lubricating longer but is a magnet for sand comparing it around the teeth of the sheaves.

Lo primero que hice para comenzar con el servicio al descarrilador fue lavar toda la zona para quitar el mayor excedente de sucio y tierra con cera, que está tiene la particularidad de lubricar por más tiempo pero es un imán para la arena comparándola alrededor de los dientes de las roldanas.

While I was cleaning the area I left the chain submerged in degreaser so that it would be out to remove all the dirt.

Mientras limpiaba la zona deje la cadena sumergida en desengrasante para que esté fuera haciendo efecto de eliminar toda la suciedad.

Once the derailleur was as clean as possible the next step was to start with the disassembly of the rear derailleur, to see the real condition of the sheave bushings, it would be no surprise that they were too dirty and the grease was not grease as you can see, and at the time of rolling them you are not moving at all.

Ya con el descarrilador lo más limpio posible lo siguiente fue comenzar con el desarmado del cambio trasero, para ver la condición real de los bujes de las roldanas, no sería sorpresa que estaban demasiado sucias y ya la grasa no era grasa como pueden observar, y al momento de hacerlas rodar estás no se movian nada.

Limpiando todo bien para volver a engrasar y darle uso durante unos cuantos kilómetros más es importante quitar toda la cera seca con arena que se incrusta ya que si no hacemos esto volveremos a contaminar nuevamente todo de una manera muy rápida, lo normal es que esto siempre suceda el sucio y es algo inevitable pero si podemos retrasar el tiempo que se tarda en llegar un estado en el que amerite mantenimiento.

Para montarlo nos apoyamos de la roldana que va en la parte inferior usamos el tornillo como ancla para mantenerla en su posición y luego hacemos su armado correspondiente sin olvidarnos de colocar las caras de el lado que va ya que si la ponemos al revés la pieza trabajara de mala manera.

Ponemos el cassette siguiendo el proceso que ya he mensionado en anteriores contenido, pero siguiendo un paso extra que es el torque que tiene que llevar esta pieza, tenemos que ajustarlo a 40nm, esto por que cambie el cierre de seguridad para dar mayor seguridad al conjunto.

After doing this, the next step is to mount the rubber and put the chain in the direction of rotation in which the chain has already been working, in my case the quick link has a mark that indicates which direction the chain should go.

Luego de hacer esto cumpliendo ahora con este nuevo paso es montar caucho y poner la cadena siguiente el sentido de rotación con el que ya la cadena ha estado trabajando, en mi caso el eslabón rápido tiene una marca que indica que dirección debe ir la cadena.

We adjust the Low and High screw again a little if necessary, as sometimes the graduation changes a little and with a subtle adjustment it returns to normal.

Ajustamos nuevamente un poco el tornillo de Low y High si es necesario ya que en ocasiones suele cambiar un poco la graduación y con un sutil ajuste este vuelve a la normalidad.

After testing the adjustment and everything worked without problems I can say that I am happy with the service done to the bike since a long time ago, or rather since I put the decarrilator I did not service it and to be honest I am somewhat picky when the parts I am not giving them the necessary care.

Luego de probar el ajuste y que todo funcionase sin problemas puedo decir que estoy contento con el servicio realizado a la bicicleta ya que hace tiempo, mejor dicho desde que puse el decarrilador no le hacia servicio y siendo sinceros soy algo quisquilloso cuando las piezas no les estoy dando el cuidado necesario.
