This is therapy. My car had been needing a complete makeover and I had been a little short of cash for quite some time now, so I was unable to pay my full attention to it. Furthermore due to the recent heavy rainfall in the city, my car had also drowned due to the poor sewerage system of the city. I wasn't in the town, this caused the water to get accumulated in the car, destroying the interior. Thank God the engine compartment wasn't affected heavily, although the battery had dried out due to not using the car for the time being.
The variant is of 2008 for anyone wondering. The condition of the car wasn't doing justice to it's abilities and its quality. It's a machine and if you don't pay attention to it's well being, it's just going to rust away obviously. I wanted to do a complete detailing which included multiple things. Didn't want to alter any thing in the engine compartment as it was working fine for me. Apart from that, the body, interior, exterior, tyres, mudguards and basically the whole exterior needed a makeover. The processes that I intended to perform were:
Jet Car wash
Trunk Dressing
Dashboard/Steering restoration and polishing.
Engine Room Cleaning
Tyre cleaning
Headlights/Taillights polishing.
Seat/carpet removal.
Monogram Polishing.
fiber stains removal
complete body compounding
swirl stain removing
JET CAR WASH
The first step was to wash the car superficially, with the car shampoo and with the right amount of pressure. Since the car wasn't in use for a long period of time, and had a lot of dirt on it,as well as cement as well, the superficial jet wash couldn't really wash everything off it.
INTERIOR REMODELING
The interior had completely rotten from the insides. The seats had to be taken out completely to clean the base. The base was all rusted with extreme sort of dirt and oil accumulation beneath. The seats were rusted and quite honestly it was an hassle to open them. The rexine mat wasn't in good condition either. unscrewing The seats was an hassle itself. Some of the nuts broke while opening the seats and we had to use diesel in order to losen them up.
Once the seats were all unscrewed, they were all washed seperately and the base was detailed to the best of the capabilities. Obviously it couldn't be done as new but we still managed to improve it a lot.
SWIRL STAIN REMOVING/ CEMENT REMOVAL/ BODY COMPOUNDING
Once the interior was set and had been polished as well, the next step was to remove the persistent stains on the body. This was the hardest part and unfortunately, I couldn't take pictures of this step as I was deeply immersed in cleaning the body. Anyway, it took aeouns 2 hours to only do the outer body.
FINAL LOOK
The car turned out to be better than I expected, except for the scratches on the body obviously. It took us 7 hours to do all of this and this is how it looked after everything.
So, this was it from my side. If you have read upto this point, do let me know in the comments section what so you think of this transformation. If you liked the post, upvote it and reblog it :)))
