Definitely The Man To Give The Job To.

Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers

So... We have a problem over here... A major one at that.

This vehicle was brought to us for repairs over two years ago.. and in those two years it gave the client trouble, I am assuming that it gave troubles within his initial warranty period.

So rather than bringing it back to us to check what the problem might be he decided to take it to some backyard technician who charged him R20000 ZAR which is around $1120 USD which is insane! Not to mention the fact that he only changed the inner block of the megatronic which took no more than four hours if even that long, yeah I'm giving alot of gratuity on this one!

Besides the fact that he put in a new block he messed up so many things it's not even comprehensible to think it. After he did the repairs he told the client that he can't help him any further it will have to be a new job and he has to pay everything from the top again.

Unbelievable, but true.

Well at this point I already started removing most of the bolts, but just take a look at that silicone peeling out everywhere... And trust me those seals are magnificent you can re-use them without even having to worry slightly about any oil leaks. So the fact that he put sealer on tells me he doesn't know what he's doing... but on the other hand the fact that he removed it to repair it says that he must have worked on one of these before...

It's a mess... He didn't even hook the pistons to the gear selectors. So even if he did the job right the car would have still been a mess. And it was a colossal mess!

IMG_20230210_114715.jpg

It's not like the silicone served any purpose what so ever. Well it didn't leak but that's not because of that insane amount of silicone peeling out the sides.

This is utterly disgusting!

IMG_20230210_115630.jpg

He couldn't even round it off to look a little bit nicer... How can you give such work and be proud of it at all?

This is the day and age we live in where people who are stupid gets allowed to do these things and the people who have the skills to do this the proper way gets questioned left right and center.

IMG_20230210_114720.jpg

So the silicone on the outside isn't that big of a deal to me. What really gets me is the fact that there is silicone with sand and even some sort of seed from a certain tree inside it...

I mean what!

This guy legitly opened up and rebuilt that thing under a tree in his backyard!

IMG_20230210_123553.jpg

I know this sounds like all I am doing is complaining, but actually I'm thankfull that people like the one who worked on this do exist. This is job creation at it's best. I mean this after all would be a brand new job for us.

So this oak opened up the megatronic and well halfway cleaned it, it makes sense now why some of the solenoids are broken inside because he closed it in the wrong manner.

Can you see all that gunk and grime? I have opened up a lot of these things... really I have but I've never quite seen one in such a hectic state.

How is this acceptable to anyone?

IMG_20230210_123836.jpg

No wonder the pressure sensor didn't work! It's blocked by all that gunk. But what really surprises me is the fact that he actually remembered that little green o-ring.

IMG_20230210_123840.jpg

No wonder he used sealant because he pulled this little plate to it's max, squeezing the life that's left out of that rubber seal/gasket.

I also noted that brownish/gold colour and it looks alot like copper-slip but it's not it's based of a substance that sets. Almost like Pratley steel epoxy.

IMG_20230210_124429.jpg

IMG_20230210_124432.jpg

Well I'm no fool It's abundantly clear that this casing/cover has been beaten numerous time with a hammer, well I can't for everything in me see why the hell any fool would do that?

IMG_20230210_124730.jpg

You can always expect something like this when dealing with vehicles like this one being worked on. A total overkill of silicone sealant more than enough for a million of them because you don't need to add even a bit.

Yet here we are...

IMG_20230210_124921.jpg

As if screwing up all of the above he even managed to break the connector of the one solenoid. This mainly stemmed from the fact that he was too damn lazy to open to opposite side and remove the computer plate.

I suppose that's what an insane amount paid get you today.

IMG_20230210_134922.jpg

Yes well this side looks clean because he worked on this specific part... it appears to be clean but in reality it really isn't... Looking at all the sandy and silicone pieces found in the oil I'd say this was a failure in the making.

IMG_20230210_125049.jpg

Now that's nothing that can't be fixed with some proper attention... So of-course I had to pull apart everything and clean each piece individually rather than as a whole, getting in those crooks and crannies are important! These things tend to be on the sensitive side but giving a little scratch here and a little scratch there can help us move in the right direction.

Literally so.

IMG_20230210_143503.jpg

After some time assembling this little piece of art I realized how fun it actually is working on these things, it's a field that not a lot of people fall into easily. The fear of the unknowns scare people the most!

I mean just look at that shinyness it's a beautiful piece of engineering I can give the Germans that if I may.

IMG_20230210_145044.jpg

Now for some fresh oil in the machine.. not that gunk that we poured earlier..

I would have been ashamed to have even taken my vehicle to someone like that! DayuM!

IMG_20230210_155737.jpg

She awaits for Monday morning to be fitted. Let everything settle in properly and then we can fill up the transmission with some new fluids aswell. But we do suspect that the clutch might have been ratched out since some in-experienced wit worked on the vehicle.

Impressive every job you do, it is always a pleasure to see each image.

Thanks alot bud!!!

Your talent and knowledge is very admirable. I love how you've provided us with mechanical forensics to help explain how a component of an engine may have failed.

Even though I don't do any mechanical repair or rebuilds, there's a high similarity in approach to rebuilding and repairing computers, which I'm more familiar with. So I can certainly appreciate the time and expertise you've shared with us all. Fascinating and thank you.

Always a pleasure... And a big thanks broh!

Well regarding the computer mechanics and actual motor mechanics. They are wildly different we all know this... BUT you are right though there's a somewhat similarity... To be very truthfull I didn't always work on vehicles... I've grown up with computers and I always thought I'd become an IT engineer or something... So I have to agree🤣 I might have learned most of my skills regarding pulling thinggs apart and assembling them from the computer side of my interist!! And I do love them... I can't wait to get myself a new build and slap that beast together!

That's a complete rebuild and you have quite a good perceptive eye to what you're dealing with.

How can you give such work and be proud of it at all?

You'll never come to a conclusive answer for this, and it's staggeringly mind blowing to those who possess good work ethic.

I've come to realize that most people work jobs they do not actually want to work (usually not by choice), and this is a contributing factor. Addictions, stress, problems in the home, all transpose themselves into work places. Not everyone can put on a happy face and keep their problems at home, and oftentimes this is what happens when "taking a look under the hood." Pun completely intended.

That's just the tip of the iceberg on this topic. I'm 100% sure I could easily rip 2k words on this topic if I kept going...

You would be my first choice for automobile mechanical work with what I've seen from you.

Your blog could easily double as an impressive resume.

Great job man 👍

It was yeah... The jobs not done though we have to put the megatronic back and see of the clutch is still fine though.. But first the meg...

Yeah I don't know... You're right on the aspect of proplems such as stress factors and all that it can lead to mamy things...

But what I don't get is that when you are busy repairing something how can you leave it so dirty and messy😂 it breaks my brain... I cant fathom it 😂 and then the un intentional need to hammering this sensitive part...

However I have always said that this job chooses you... You don't choose it.... And I've loved every last bit of it... It's hard sometimes doing the heavy labour but at the end of the day it makes me feel like ive achieved something great.... It certainly beats the hell out of an office job or even an sales position 😂😂 and that is coming from someone who loves being lazy...

so imagine how lazy these oaks are that work like this.

Have a good one brother! I'D help you anytime, where I can though! You are a ways off but the web makes life easier.

Also... I never thought about the blog as being able to serve as a resume💭💭💭🤔🤔

We think exactly the same in this regard.

Likewise my man, you're a great dude in my book and I'm happy to know you!

Also... I never thought about the blog as being able to serve as a resume💭💭💭🤔🤔

Anyone who would disregard a verifiably encrypted portal as proof of work and ability is less intelligent than you and not worthy of your talent.

I would laugh in the face of someone who disregarded my blog as proof of abilities and tell them have a good life ✌️

Arrogant? Maybe a little, 100% true af? 💯!!!!!!!

@technicalside I think this comment was meant for you. Just wanted to make sure you saw it.

Oops, thanks @luvshares 😄

You see it must count as something like seriously it must... Because nowadays people want to check out your facebook profile aswell as your instagram and twitter account before they give the job away to a person..so jusy perhaps... Things will start to change in the world... It will take time but eventually everyone will be adapting to the idea of web3 and when that happens we will be ahead of the game😂😂💡

Like wise broh, I've never met you but I'd sure as hell won't mind having a sit down and a smoke sesh with you😎😎

Stay good my mahn!!!
