Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

The Odd One!

Well this really is a odd one!

The problems provided by Ford was weird! Real weird!
The way they described this was that the entire thing was buggered up and indeed that might be true but we've never had such a problem... Now here's the catch it might just be an electronic fault though...

Not sure I think we will have to dig in deep with this one! It didn't give any fault codes on the computer at all!

Odd right?

The Condition Of The Oil!

As I said this is odd... Okay the condition of the oil is bad! Real bad and I have a feeling it can also be the oil... it might be too thick to pump through all the channels?

Heck that really is just a theory? But it really is thick though! Now it's really not as simple as just cleaning it out and stuffing new oil inside it though... We've got to find out why it didn't have any gears at all... I mean it should suck up some oil right no matter what? Bad oil should just cause some slippage or even wear!

This Is Spectacular!

To say the least hey! There is hardly anything on these magnets! Hardly anything at all and for a transmission that is as old as 260k kilometers on the clock I can only assume that it was well taken care of... even for the oil condition!

Now this is strange... how can there be no traces of steel at all? Like none?

This doesn't add up?

I mean there is some clutch lining material bit not nearly enough for 260k! This is just insane!

The Usual Spot!

Well this is odd! Above anything else I thought this might be the problem place! It almost always is the problem side!

Now given I think for most pickups that are tuned for performance they tend to wear out quickly!
Sometimes lightly and sometimes horrid! It all depends on which lucky packet you receive!

The One Thing I Hate!

Oh but of-course!

That huge whack circlip that just kills it in there! I mean dang guys I'm sure there must have been some other way Ford?

Heck nah! Now I can say that over the years it has gotten fairly easy to remove them but sometimes you get one that is more stubborn than a old man! his was one of them!

It's always the one's being done in a rush that would cost the most time hey! More rush and less speed!
No pun intended!

Pulling It All Apart!

Okay so bossman asked me to pull all of this apart! Every clutch stack and the works... not much else to pull out other than a clutch stack though but still! Stripped down to the bone and that is how we like the things!

Of-course this is going to be an insurance job so we would definitely be in need of some photos to share to the insurance!

This might be the fullest payout we've ever seen guys! I don't see much wrong on the mechanical side of life!

Ready For Inspection!

Bossman asked me to pull this and stack it out before five! He had to do a report on these and well they absolutely love to see things as clear as they can!

Besides I had a great deal of fun tearing this down and stacking it this way!
Well yeah who doesn't like a good tearing down and to top it off with something sweet! I think I like stacking this out!

For some weird reason I do love organized chaos! This is very well one of those moments! But it does have a way of looking real mean when stacked out like this!

So Far The Only Thing!

Okay! So this is a real odd one! As I said!

Out of all those clutch stacks! Out of all of them I found only one steel friction plate that is somewhat damaged! Or rather burnt!

I don't fully understand how something like this would happen though, that means it got pressure and then loses it! For now it's Bossman's turn to come make a turn!
