Great Morning to you all, I am up once again for the fourth 15 day period, consider voting for me if you like what we are doing - we are still squeezing and if you ask me I think it is setting up to help soak up a good number of SIM from the system - which I think we need. This will be my mandate!
But since the year is ending I also need to get out an update for our @cartel-dcity account, and so I want to give a really nice update including some really great material from @gerber.
Welcome to both Plebs and Cartel Members, let's learn something:
So @gerber has had a number of fantastic expositions in the discord lately; on one hand some times some of these could be seen as rants to people who don't understand, but I think this is an actual solid effort to explain just how complicated and well-thought out some of these mechanics are.
So @gerber points out that Governance decides whether to distribute more SIM or HIVE, and this is decided by holding SIM. With the changes that have been made over the last year including the popularity multiplier decrease, the student(debt) negative change and the Sick Citizens, we have several really good SIM sinks that also serve to separate active and inactive players.
So we are squeezing, hoping to hit a deflationary episode like those that have happened twice before. The chart is starting to show it, although the slope is still positive.
But we can still play the game profitably with the Citizen Mining (popularity) strategies with balanced population. This morning @rycharde showed up to remind us of that:
Many players of dCity remember "how it used to be" in the early phases of the game. Some of these players think the game is broken because it doesn't do what it used to. That's okay, they can sell their cities and over time new players can buy in and mine new citizens and enjoy the game once more.
Please share this beginner tutorial far and wide!

I will be updating the dCity digest as soon as I have the time with this information, and will be doing a Parts 2 and 3 with the same starter city to show how a progression might go.
One possible goal for a new city might be to become a SIMclub member by having at least 1 million SIM power. Our @cartel-dcity has already achieved this goal, and we are claiming a student everyday:
Entrepidus has our 'Millionaire Role' and does way better than I can manage for my own city. We don't quite have a full collection of all the items, and this shows up once in a while:
Once becoming a SIM Millionaire, amassing a collection of at least one of every building can be an enjoyable task for certain types of gamers, motivated by the incentive of maximizing the Student Claim.
As a Cartel, we are supporting @ecoinstant as president, and I really appreciate seeing other names on the list come to my support. The task of creating a deflationary event in dCity takes a group of hard-elbowed people and I am excited what we might be able to accomplish in this game over the next few months if we keep our mind (and SIM power) to it.
I'll leave it to you all to decide what a deflationary event plus a scramble for governance control might do to the price of SIM. Because we don't really know, we've tried it before - but this might just be the time that the conditions are just right to see some fireworks - time will tell.
Cast your ballots for @ecoinstant if you are still enjoying the show!
