It's crazy to think just a two weeks ago Waka was announced to go live as a new card in the Splinterlands game. What is the Waka Spiritblade card?
It's a summoner card that's fully maxed out. It also produces the poison ability across all monsters so unless you take out their cards fast more than likely that poison is going to eat you alive.
Within under one minute of time all 500 cards sold out! That's well over $800,000 in sales in under a minute is just crazy!
We get that estimate from these two figures below.
SPS Valued at roughly $0.13 - 5,000 needed - $650
Vouchers Valued at roughly $2 - 500 needed - $1,000
Another round will be happening soon which will be all WAX we don't have details on that but I suspect the price to be around that same figure of about $1,500 WAX per each.
What we do know is that of those 500 cards sold there where a total of 414 unique buyers. That's pretty impressive as I figured a large majority would be gobbled up by a few. However that's not the case
SPS and Vouchers moving forward
For now we will see voucher and SPS prices fall again. There's simply not enough to do with them at the moment. There has been talks about more cards and these types or releases coming in the near future however so what does that mean? If you want to get in on these things you should be stacking like crazy while the prices are low.
This also means the company has generated $1.5 million dollars in a single day roughly. Now my hopes are some of that value starts to be injected back into the game in terms of rewards, buy back of DEC or something. It seems silly not to and hopefully we as SPS holders will have more say in such things moving forward. You can only keep taking money out of a crypto or play2earn game for so long before it collapses.
A New Game
There's also been an announcement from the team about the Warner Music Group. For those of you who don't know who the WMG are it is Warner music which is a multinational entertainment group and record label conglomerate.
From how it reads a new game besides Splinterlands is currently being built in ties with them. It will blend play2earn style gaming with music.
Now while moves like this are huge they also make me cringe sorry to say. I don't like mega corporations such as this. I'm hoping for the best though as I rather see music artist come out on top for once and stop having these mega corporations buy up rights and screw artists out of their royalties. I'm VERY iffy on this announcement to be honest and will be watching it closely hoping for the best.
In any case what we are seeing is a huge shift in industries and with those shifts comes a lot of shake up. That shakeup can be a VERY good thing if people hold their ground and continue to work towards a positive goal.
