My Struggles About Splinterlands Bronze League Arena Leaderboards

in #hive-1022233 years ago

Hola! Guys I’m finally done playing the Bronze League Arena Leaderboards and it’s quite going well. With the cards that I’ve rented, going up to 1,000 Rating is pretty easy but beyond that…there is still a major need of improvement. You can see a lot of players with really high ratings around 2.8k for first place with a prize of 30,000 Dark Energy Crystals.

Robin's Splinterlands Bronze Rank

As you can see, my current skill can only get me to 1k rating but top players can get to 2.8k rating. At the start, it was hard since there was no clear information for me on what cards to play. As soon as I got the hang of it and using Peakmonsters Battlechain, everything started to go smoothly but my current knowledge only gets me to 1k rating only enough to move up the Silver League.

To the new players or those who don’t play Splinterlands. It’s sad to say that there are bots in the game. You’ll notice that their names are written in alphanumeric order and go like “alphabet1234” and sometimes with a “bot” written in their name. You can search on google “Splinterlands Bot” to see how it works. Basically, as what bots do, they just play the game for you automatically and you can go a-f-k. That’s a sad thing since you won’t know how to play the game. It’s also bad for me since my skills won’t improve and I can’t make any content because it’s not me playing the game but an automated third party software.

Back in the era of Untamed Edition and when I had a collection of cards, the only play I majorly did was to prioritize playing magic damage cards and just kept on winning until Gold 1. I was only able to reach that league because my cards had max level required for a certain league so it was just a walk in the park. Plus, the playstyle was based on my instincts and not based on skill.

Now I rent cards to compete with the best Splinterlands players (hopefully not bots). My playstyle has changed, I’ve rented cards at max level for Bronze League, at first I was playing any Summoner that I’ve felt like. Win rate was only 50-50 but the more I played, the more I improved. As time passes by, playing only 1 summoner won’t suffice. Then at least, I need to play 2 summoners and not all for the Bronze League.

The first Summoner I chose is:

THADDIUS BROOD
The Greatest Summoner in Splinterlands

There is a reason why I chose this summoner...is because of an anime called “Demon Slayer” and a certain character that became a hype on its latest arc. Which is this guy named “Gyutaro”.

Gyutaro Upper Demon Six

I chose him because they have the same vibe and looks. Anime just has an impact on my life.

KELYA FRENDUL
Overpowered Summoner in Bronze Ranks

This is my secondary summoner because she seems overpowered and a favorite in the bronze league. This card offers +1 Speed and +1 Armor with only 4 Mana and speed is a commodity in this game. The card that has the most speed attacks first and this card is way better than Pyre and cheap at the marketplace.

I admit that what I’ve spent on renting cards is way more than what was intended and I now know the wasted Dark Energy Crystals. Thanks to Peakmonsters Rental History, I’m able to see how much DEC I’ve spent and be able to budget precisely next time. I’ve spent 346.53 DEC but next time the cards that will be in my rent portfolio are cards that will be utilized. I was inexperienced at first and it was understandable.

Also, lucky to get a reward card during the daily quests and end of the season even though I prioritize ratings over daily quests. These are the cards that rewarded to me:

Daily Quest Reward
Ginger Summoner For Rent

Season Reward
Emo Boy Reward Card For Rent

I’m putting all my reward cards for rent which means I can have enough DEC for renting other player’s cards. Thinking about it, I can get a lot of reward cards in the higher ranks and I do hope the reward cards will be enough to pay for my rentals when I reach Diamond and Champion.

For the upcoming seasons, I won’t be playing again until there is enough knowledge and enough confidence. It would be kind of useless to grind when beyond 1k rating my records would be mostly losses. I need more time with studying in the Battlechain ‘cause I’m not using bots or any form of cheating. I play fair and square so it takes time. See you until the next Splinterlands episode.
