I'm sure most players haven't even noticed the recent NFT swap in the Festival World Tour section on #RisingStar... but it struck me as curious (and a bit disappointing, if I'm being totally honest). Up next: a country called "PEACE".
Let me start by saying that I've been loving the Rising Star game for quite a while now, and this trivial hiccup won't change that... but I was really hoping that the mainstream political narrative wouldn't find its way in.
And before any fights break out, don't misinterpret my thoughts for political speech either. I'm not taking a position here... one way or another, we've been lied to about EVERYTHING for two solid years now. So call me crazy, but I wanted to just turn my music up and ignore it all.
And that's still my plan.
I Don't Trust the Media.
As a Canadian, I've been given every reason not to. I'm not even sure what the rest of the world thinks is going on in #Canada right now, but it doesn't involve the people getting their lives back.
And this convenient media blitz is distracting most of us from the readings of Bill C-223, a piece of restrictive Universal Basic Income legislation that should be making headlines nationwide.
Is there anything else happening right now that might be cause for a distraction? Well... Pfizer has been releasing their trial data after being denied their requested 70 years for review. Needless to say, that is an entirely different can of worms that I won't be opening here.
I didn't think I would be talking about any of this here. I even noticed the [CARD WHICH SHALL NOT BE NAMED] not long ago and felt a sense of relief that the political machine would not infiltrate our community.
I Wanted the #RUSSIA Card.
It has nothing to do with politics either... or maybe it's more of an intentional dismissal of politics. I love people, and I hate these useless abstractions that divide us. Once it starts, you can't stop it.
For instance: we're cancelling Russia, but China gets a free pass. There they stand all in a tidy row: Hong Kong and China (which seeks to take Hong Kong) and Russia Peace (which seeks to take Ukraine). While we're at it, I vote for the CANADA card to be swapped for either FREEDOM (to be consistent) or FUCK TRUDEAU (if you're feeling saucy).
I don't claim to know what the truths of these matters are... it's not even on my list of things-to-do as a vicariously successful independent rock star. I was honestly planning to post a few simple Rising Star tips and musings, but this caught my attention.
And I'm a glutton for punishment, I guess. Just for good measure, I'll come right out and say I'm a big fan of Dostoyevsky and Russian literature. Sorry (not sorry).
Can't We All Just Get Along?
Cheesy, I know, but I hate seeing good people get wrapped up in politics. I don't care one iota where you live or hail from... I assume your politicians are crooks and your media is lying to you. See? We're all one big, happy family.
With that being said, that's the end of my take.
Back to Climbing the Rising Star Charts!
There is always SO MUCH going on in the Rising Star game and community. It has been amazing to watch its evolution and growing popularity. I don't take it for granted that I got an early start and was able to plant myself near the top of the leaderboard.
But it has taken persistence, and a bit of strategy. As has been pointed out recently, my total number of cards is significantly lower than the average in the top 20... but my pile of UNIQUE cards is the fifth highest overall. I knew that taking this approach would have the biggest impact, so I stuck with it.
That's the one tip I want to stress this time around: focus on unique cards. The new Fan Club cards are a good opportunity to do just that. I've managed to get four of them (pictured above), but a few thousand #Starbits spent in the Music Promoter arena will get you enough Starpro to earn at least the first two cards.
Most importantly: HAVE FUN. I know I am.
