Before I got married, I had thought love to be just buying gifts and sending money to your loved ones. I think I really didn't understand love until I became married. Love is unconditional and by saying unconditional, it means that to love is to sacrifice for the one you love.
Antes de casarme, pensaba que el amor era solo comprar regalos y enviar dinero a tus seres queridos. Creo que realmente no entendí el amor hasta que me casé. El amor es incondicional y al decir incondicional, significa que amar es sacrificarse por el que amas.
Last night, I came home from work at about 9pm. I was so tired because work was super hectic. My colleague was sick so I had to stand in for two at the office. I was just so eager to get home so that I can land on the bed and just sleep off without any form of disturbance. Well, that was what I thought was going to happen.
Anoche llegué a casa del trabajo a eso de las 9:00 p. m. Estaba tan cansada porque el trabajo era muy agitado. Mi colega estaba enfermo, así que tuve que sustituir a dos en la oficina. Estaba tan ansioso por llegar a casa para poder aterrizar en la cama y dormir sin ningún tipo de molestia. Bueno, eso era lo que pensaba que iba a pasar.
But something else's happened. I got home and realized that my wife didn't prepare dinner. When I asked what the problem was, she told me that she was just getting in from church. She had gone for a church programme earlier and there was an accident on her way back which caused a heavy traffic. So she couldn't come home early. I saw how exhausted she was.
Pero ha pasado algo más. Llegué a casa y me di cuenta de que mi esposa no preparó la cena. Cuando le pregunté cuál era el problema, me dijo que acababa de llegar de la iglesia. Ella había ido a un programa de la iglesia antes y hubo un accidente en su camino de regreso que provocó un tráfico pesado. Así que no pudo volver a casa temprano. Vi lo agotada que estaba.
Here I was, so hungry and tired. I managed to have a shower and asked her to get dressed. We went to a nearby restaurant and ate what we bought. When we got home, my wife looked at me and said " Thank you my husband". That hit me hard and I just realized that I had done something that made her happy.
Aquí estaba yo, tan hambriento y cansado. Me las arreglé para darme una ducha y le pedí que se vistiera. Fuimos a un restaurante cercano y comimos lo que compramos. Cuando llegamos a casa, mi esposa me miró y me dijo: "Gracias, mi esposo". Eso me golpeó fuerte y me di cuenta de que había hecho algo que la hacía feliz.
Love is totally sacrifice. I was so tired and the normal thing was to come home to a meal,eat, have a bath and sleep off. But when I looked at my wife and saw how tired she was,I had to sacrifice my own time to rest and head out for us to eat out. Trust me, a lot of people especially men will be so mad at their wives for not preparing dinner.
El amor es totalmente sacrificio. Estaba tan cansada y lo normal era llegar a casa a comer, comer, bañarme y dormir. Pero cuando miré a mi esposa y vi lo cansada que estaba, tuve que sacrificar mi propio tiempo para descansar y salir a comer. Confía en mí, muchas personas, especialmente los hombres, se enojarán mucho con sus esposas por no preparar la cena.
But I have come to understand that communication and understanding is very essential in marriage. When you communicate, you help your partner understand you better. Communicating in love is one thing that everyone needs to learn and understand the dynamics too. You have to learn to sacrifice your time, energy and anything else for love.
Pero he llegado a comprender que la comunicación y la comprensión son muy esenciales en el matrimonio. Cuando te comunicas, ayudas a tu pareja a entenderte mejor. Comunicarse en amor es algo que todos deben aprender y comprender la dinámica también. Tienes que aprender a sacrificar tu tiempo, energía y cualquier otra cosa por amor.
