Glad to be here, so sorry that i have been a few days away for a personal retreat, i was really feeling the need to give myself some rest, put myself down and strategize for the future. I will be sharing my entry to the month topic on the #Feelings and #Emotions community. stress.
Stress in it essence is not bad, i will be sharing my personal testimony of how much value, i have added to my life journey, that stress is instrumental to the successful journey.
our culture today has really made it look like, stress is a bad thing, people today have that to be a wing of engagement in complaining, our age today do not like stress in any form but i must say that what we call stress is synonymous to greatness.
My friend will always say that a moderate amounts of stress comes with powerful benefits, but i will always say that stress is stress, the amount as anyone will call it is relational.
I want to say that first stress is a feeling, and as such will not be captured in same dimension or magnitude as the other person, so everyone feels it differently and depending on your emotional spring board, the measure is relative to a person.
Stress is a feeling of an emotionally or physically stirred atmosphere, like we all know, anything can arouse a feeling of emotion, could be event of disappointment or frustration, a flow of thought, that makes you feel angry or sometimes nervous,
We can only say that we have been stressed when our body, or mind is reacting to challenge or in some cases, demands.
In the journey of destiny, there are many elements of which the feeling of emotions is just one of it. as amazing and beautiful as the feeling of emotions will be, it can not in my opinion be the driver of a destiny vehicle, i guess you now know why am saying so, one of the reasons are that emotions can not be sully depended upon, the guy called emotions is very fragile in nature, it can be easily influenced by other element.
Stress for me comes at the very neutral base, it is the very state of your mind, at reception that will determined if it will play a positive role or negative role, stress can be positive , it all depends on you,
The stress response is a powerful tool that helps us to responses to potentially threatening events in our general daily living, we see that many times at work, home and in business, especially when you are shouldered with responsibility with limited time frame, it will help you meet up with deadline.
Individuals vary widely in how they respond to stress. The same stressor may be manageable for one person and overwhelming for another, depending in part on perception. People who feel resilient and confident that they can manage stress are much less likely to be overwhelmed by it—and more likely to have a healthy response—than people who think of stress as bad. Another factor is control. Stress is much less likely to be harmful if people have some control over the situation. A tight deadline is stressful but manageable if you have the ability to meet it. If not, if you feel helpless, the stress is more likely to be harmful. Early life experiences also shape how people respond to stress. If you have a lot of stress in your early life, you may be more vulnerable to the harmful effects of stress. sources
Problems, pressure, tension and pains are the possible factors that stairs up the emotional feelings that is express as stress, it will be wrong if we see stress to be all round bad even when our culture captures it so.
My Stressful Experience:
I can recall all through my days in the university as an undergraduate, it was a no joy-joy season, i also recall back then, in my secondary school, it was a place of no joke, i can remember one college of ours that join us newly but after one week, he told his parents that he will not be able to continue, base on the reason that , it was too stressful, looking at the busy academic schedule, there was no time for frivolities, so he left the school, i can not tell what has become of his life today. back to my experience as an undergraduate, as an engineering student, studying Electrical Electronics Engineering in a Nigerian University, we will start lectures by 7:00am in the morning and will take down to 4:00pm with just an hour break, this would have been better if it is once a week but this will go through for about 3 days or more in a week depending.
We grow to become strong, and capable to face the challenges that are befalling us, the trough is that if we were not stressed in this manner, maybe, we would not have this strong to handle the present challenges as we in our daily living.
Yea, it came disguising itself in form of pains and pressure but have build my life to become so strong, wiser, better, with great capacity to meet up with the demands of the times and season, as such a time this.
Sincerely i personal, do not see stress to be a bad thing, but i will advise that you don't allow it get to the extreme, because too much of everything is what makes it bad, so i believe its good to be set and ready prepared for it so that it will not take you unprepared.
