I was watching the football match between England and Switzerland yesterday and the commentator said something very interesting. In quote
The fear of errors overcomes every creativity.
This captured my attention and I wrote it down on my notepad (I always have one on me.)
Since then, those lines refused to leave my head and I realized that. If I hadn't written it down I still would have remembered because it really made so much sense to me.
It really got me thinking a lot. How many things have I let go of things that I really wanted to do because I'm scared it might not come out well? How many times have I decided to give up on something because of fear of errors?
Creativity is all about giving it a shot. You imagine it, you think it through and you put it into action. Now, what happens when you are scared of making a mistake when you are scared of not getting it right? At that moment, you only imagine and think it through but because of the uncertainties that might surround your imagination, you might likely not put it into action.
When you fill your mind with questions of doubt. What if... what if... You end up limiting yourself to only things you are confident in and this alone prevents you from being the creative being you are meant to be.
The only time you can fully unlock your creative mind is when you realize that it's ok to make mistakes, it is ok to get it wrong, and you mustn't get it on the first trial all you just have to do is keep trying until you get it right.
Fear at large is one thing that limits one in life. Fear can cripple your imagination and make you stagnant. For you to be great, you need to kill fear first. No great person on earth would tell you they have never got it wrong. So, it is normal to get it wrong at times, it is normal to fall, just stand and keep going because life is all about trying until you get it right. Just let go of that fear and take a confident leap.
Imagine what you could achieve if only you didn't let those fears stop you. Imagine where you will be, and how unstoppable you will be if fear is not your major hindrance. It might sound very Minor but believe me when I say that the only free mind is a mind without fear. A mind that understands that one error wouldn't kill me. Just like I said earlier about great people. If you listen to them speak, they'd tell you how many things they made very silly mistakes. Now imagine they allowed those silly mistakes to stop them, do you think you will hear of them today?
Life itself is all about taking risks. I believe in a very strong philosophy about life "If you are not ready to risk it, then you are not ready to gain it"
