There is a little popular park in my town where the youngsters and families with kids like to go. It has a lush plantation, pleasant walking path, and beautiful fountain and pond with ornate statues. This is probably why people like to spend time in this place.
The park is located not far from the main road. It is very easy to find. Once you arrive in my town, Negara, Bali, people will hardly miss it because it is just by the road. And you will see the statue of Bima (a character from epic Hindu story called Mahabharata) as he is fighting against a servant or dragon on the ocean.
Bima was sent to go to the ocean by his teacher to find the Holy Water. His task was not easy since there were many challenges. One of them was the furious serpent attacking Bima on the sea. That's what the statue inside the park depicts.
Bima is not only the Maha Bharata character that could be found in this park. There few more. There was a paved walking path throughout the park with with more statues line up beside it.
I took a walk through the path between trees saw the statues from a closer look. All the statues depicted the main characters of the Maha Bharata story for example, princess Drupadi, Prince Arjuna, Prince Yudistira. All these characters are quite well-known in Bali because it is related to Hinduism.
From the path, I could see different kind of plantation grow in this place. There were frangipani trees, palm trees, coconut trees, and different kind of flowers. It was a beautiful and lush surrounding. It seems to be a nice and quick escape from the busy town.
The most interesting spot I found was the water fountain in the one of the corner. It was another statue of a warrior riding a horse and beautiful women carrying urns from which water was flowing.
I looked closer at those women who carried the urns. Their faces were so peaceful. I could not help feeling peaceful and calm myself.
