Hello beautiful ladies,
Since I ran out of sunscreen, I started looking for a new sunscreen. I have been doing research for this recently. In the meantime, I learned new information about sunscreen and I will share this new information with you in this post.
There are a few different factors to consider when choosing a sunscreen. These,
Before I detail these features, I would like to talk about the importance of sunscreens. Sunscreen should not be used only when we go on vacation, it is very important to make a habit of using sunscreen regardless of summer and winter. With the depletion of the ozone layer, the sun's rays reach the earth without any filter. This means that harmful sun rays reach us directly. Direct exposure to the sun's rays poses the risk of skin cancer. In addition, sun rays have a direct effect on skin staining and wrinkle formation. For this reason, sunscreen should be used not only for aesthetic reasons but especially for health.
In the below video, it really helps me to choose right product.
UVA and UVB filters that protect from harmful rays that I mentioned above.
UVA rays make up 95% of the rays reaching the earth from the sun. In other words, even in cloudy weather, UVA rays are present. UVA is short for UV Aging. In other words, these rays cause the aging of the skin.
UVB rays are an abbreviation for UV Burns or UV Bronzed Skin. These rays constitute 5% of the rays reaching the earth. These rays cause tanning, burns and skin cancer.
Therefore, having UVA and UVB filters in sunscreen will protect our skin against these harmful effects.
SPF is an abbreviation for Sun Protection Factor. This factor means how long the sunscreen will protect you. What's often misunderstood here is that sunscreen with a high SPF doesn't protect you better, but it does protect you longer. Let's take a simple example. For example, if your skin starts to burn when exposed to the sun for an average of 10 minutes, SPF30 sunscreen will protect you 30 times of this time. So 300 minutes. SPF 50 protects for 500 minutes, which is 50 times more.
Sunscreens contain many chemicals to protect the skin. For this reason, people with sensitive skin often complain that sunscreens cause acne.
In addition, many companies produce different sunscreens for dry skin and oily skin. Here, you can reduce the possible effects of sunscreen by choosing the sunscreen suitable for your own skin.
Of course, price is not the most important factor when choosing sunscreen. However, creams with similar properties can be sold for 2 or 3 times the price just because they are a well-known brand. That's why price is important to me. If the sunscreen has a CE certificate, it creates trust for me. That's why I don't want to go and spend a fortune on a sunscreen just for the label.
An average sunscreen is sold for 50 ml for 100 TL or more in Turkey. So we can say about at least 14.30 HIVE. Since I renew the sunscreen frequently during the day and use it abundantly, I finish the sunscreen frequently. That's why the price is important to me.
Although choosing the right sunscreen protects you from the harmful effects of the sun, it is not enough on its own. For this reason, it is necessary not to be exposed to direct sunlight during the hours when the sun is most effective. I also recommend using physical protectors like a hat or a thin shawl.
I hope my article was useful for you.
Wishing you healthy days
