Pepe is forever, maybe because memes have been forever.
Meme is from forver ago from the greeks or sum-thing. But it's all greek to me. Gon do a little frog research of the human memory archive. Which may also be used by suggestion for meme is that of memory.
We need a name for the new replicator, a noun that conveys the idea of a unit of cultural transmission, or a unit of imitation. 'Mimeme' comes from a suitable Greek root, but I want a monosyllable that sounds a bit like 'gene'. I hope my classicist friends will forgive me if I abbreviate mimeme to meme. If it is any consolation, it could alternatively be thought of as being related to 'memory', or to the French word même. It should be pronounced to rhyme with 'cream'. [Richard Dawkins, "The Selfish Gene," 1976]
This concept has evolved into the meme that may usually be found on the internet. So many memes have become popular that we now even have coins and currencies of and form them like MEME and PEPE!
MEME is fer memes. PEPE is fer memes and moar. What moar could you possibly need to know?
Seems that memes of the internet have been since 1997 just before the turn of the century which there may be memes about like everything else.
Here's a meme from the early days with black line drawings and even fancy text writing!
Did you know memes have been around for like decades and all?
PEPE Forever!
Feels Good Man!
