Greetings, travelers of the World!
Today I would like to share with you my memories, both visual and from the stacks of my memory, from one small Italian gem of a town, called Sovana.
It could be found at the Southern "outskirts" of Tuscany, that beautiful Italian region of Grosseto.
Now trust me, if you happen to be there, I am sure you will fall in love with its old stone paved narrow streets and beautiful houses.
I was so happy not only to be there but also to be there at the right time. The right time, when the Sun was going down and its rays were caressing all that medieval beauty.
Together with my friend, that I was sharing this travel with, we enjoyed so so many stuff there. Not only the cozy and calming streets, the old city square, lit by the falling sunlight.
Flowers. Blossoming flowers everywhere, adding a sweet scent to our experience.
Pumpkins, growing at some unexpected places.
Probably left there to fully ripe. For me though, they were creating a beautiful yellow-green contrast, adding vividness to the brown touch of the old stone houses.
And what would be an old beautiful small Italian, or in a matter of fact, European, town, without our feline friends.
They were following and tracing our steps. We tried not to wake them up from their late afternoon or evening nap...
The local guardians approved our behavior and let us explore the place for as long as we wanted to.
The warmth and the welcomeness of that place are something that I want to mention as well.
By the way, one could tell so much about a particular place, city, town or village, just when observing the people walking on the streets and the folks sitting at the bars and the cafeterias. Right?
It didn't take long to walk its streets end to end in both directions.
And the pleasure of seeing that mountain landscape at the end of one of the streets. Imagine living there and waking up to scenery views like this one!
Oh, true, I could tell there were moments in the past that were not very kind on the local people. Wars, destruction. Thankfully, that's now all behind. Only some ruins remain to remind everyone about these times.
I could have walked this stone paved paths for ages...
However, I didn't dare to enter this labyrinth.
Instead, I left myself to lose my way at Sovana... For good!
