I'll bet you all remember those times. Those wonderful mornings that our sweet mothers will send us on errands to go buy something from the store woman (most of the time, it's bread🤔). You will now come back looking innocent and all and then give the thing you bought to your mother. Your mom will now tell you "thank you" BUT WILL NOT ASK FOR THE CHANGE!
Kai! I know you're thinking what I'm thinking😏. Oya, expose yourself. What will you go and use that 50 naira change and do? Some of us, it's to go and buy sweet and lick. "Abi everybody in school is now buying Pin Pop and it's only me that have not bought?" The next thing, fiam! The money has found it's habitat in your pocket.
So you end up succeeding and go ahead to buy the sweet na. Enjoyment! You will not allow your mother to see you licking it ohh. Maybe you'll be licking it after school and be enjoying yourself. Then somebody will shout,
"Chinaza your mother has come to pick you!"
Next thing you know, you start chewing the sweet fast fast so she will not know. You managed to escape that one abi? Oya na, let's be watching out.
You thought you've finally committed the perfect crime. You finally got away with it. Congrats! Nobody even suspected a single thing, lol. Three days later, as you're doing your homework, what you just hear is your mom shouting your name very loudly from the kitchen, "Chinaza! Come here! You now leave the assignment. In your head, you'll be like "ohhhhhmm, what is it now? When you reach there, you see your mom searching her purse for some extra change. The next words that issue out of her mouth ehhh...
"Where is that fifty naira change from four days ago?"
Chai! Oya Chinaza, bring out that change 😏.
