It's a beautiful time and season in the month of February, the shortest month of the year which is rolling away so fast. Welcome to Hive Open Mic Week #254, I remain your friend mamab.
The theme of the week is "Break away". Breaking away can mean different things to different people depending on the situation. There are times when we break away to avoid trouble or bad influence, there are times we break away because we have been hurt and disappointed, there are other times when we break away to face the giant blocking our path.
I presented the cover of a song I learnt right from my secondary school, I am not sure of who composed it. It is titled "I will never go back".
The song is an expression of a will after an unpalatable experience in the past. Egypt from the Bible is the land that God destroyed and devastated because of the stubbornness of their King Pharaoh. The Israelites suffered there greatly and cried until God sent Moses to deliver them.
In the current depiction, Egypt is like our rough past. Some people have suffered from many sicknesses, misfortunes and sorrows. Some have been jilted and hurt in relationships. When you finally find freedom after breaking away, you will never wish to return. It is actually good to break loose from every entanglement especially of sin and the devil. Going forward is better than going backward, progressing is better than regressing.
You can sing along as we declare never to go back to Egypt together.
