Hello, Open Mic family and friends! It is as usual an honor to participate in this musical event in the company of so many exceptional musicians and human beings. The theme in this addition is Break Away, a topic that can have several contexts.
When there is a separation, whether forced or voluntary, it means that we stop being in direct and frequent contact with someone or something, perhaps this person or thing that we are moving away from is bringing complications to our life and I believe that it is the greatest of the cases, because if things were well and harmonious, probably there would not be an eventual separation. I believe that we have to learn to live with that reality and look for new horizons, not to stay trapped in the past, especially when the situation is beyond our control.
Today I present an acoustic cover of the song Imaginary, by the American alternative metal band Evanescence, from the album Fallen, released in 2003. This song is precisely about the need to separate ourselves from reality in order to escape from that which disturbs us, entering an imaginary plane where we can achieve peace of mind, even for a few moments. The lyrics tell us about a person who seeks refuge in her fantasy world created to hide from her harsh reality, her anxiety and fears, getting inside herself and disconnecting from the stressful outside. I hope you like my presentation.
¡Hola, familia y amigos de Open Mic! Es como de costumbre un honor participar en este evento musical en compañía de tantos músicos y seres humanos excepcionales. La temática en esta adición es Romper o Separarse, un tópico que puede tener varios contextos.
Cuando hay una separación, sea forzada o voluntaria, significa que dejamos de estar en contacto directo y frecuente con alguien o algo, quizás esta persona o cosa de la que nos estemos alejando esté trayendo complicaciones a nuestra vida y creo que es el mayor de los casos, pues si las cosas estuvieran bien y armoniosa probablemente no se daría una eventual separación. Considero que hay que aprender a vivir con esa realidad y buscar nuevos horizontes, no quedarnos atrapados en el pasado, especialmente cuando la situación escapa de nuestro control.
El día de hoy les presento un cover acústico de la canción Imaginary (Imaginario), de la banda de metal alternativo estadounidense Evanescence, perteneciente al álbum Fallen, publicado en el año 2003. Esta canción trata precisamente de la necesidad de separarnos de la realidad para poder escapar de aquello que nos perturba, entrando en plano imaginario donde podamos conseguir paz mental, así sea por unos momentos. La letra nos habla de una persona que busca un refugio en su mundo de fantasía creado para esconderse de su dura realidad, de su ansiedad y de sus miedos, metiéndose dentro de sí misma y desconectándose del estresante exterior.
