It's me, Dhamie Hilz, a gentleman born to stand out and blessed with a precious gift (My voice). I am a rare gem, and I'm so grateful to God for the journey so far as a musician.
My first name is Benjamin, but people call me Dhamie Hilz because that's my stage name. The name "Dhamie" was coined from one of my tribal names, and "Hilz" is an acronym of something else. I hail from Oyo State and was born into a loving family that believes so much in my dreams. My sincere gratitude goes to them for always being my number one fan.
I currently reside in Kwara State, and I love to travel, most especially for things in relation to my passion, music.
I am a graduate of Performing Arts, University of Ilorin, and I currently work as a singer and vocal coach. I train people how to become better singers; I also sing for different kinds of musical projects like movies, concerts, birthdays, studio recordings (lead and background vocals), and so on.
One of the good things about me is that I love to look and smell good; I believe how someone appears creates a big impression about them. My favorite quote is "When the gifted is unavailable, the available becomes gifted." this is a reminder that we should remain humble, consistent, dedicated, committed and selfless wherever we find ourselves.
I am a good songwriter and composer. I derive joy in singing for people cause I believe my voice can heal people's hearts and also gladden the hearts of the depressed. Aside from training adults vocally, I also enjoy training children because they are free-spirited and have less burdens to bear emotionally.
One part of me a lot of people don't know is that I am a writer. I have written a lot of fiction, which I hope that someday they will be published when I have the right amount of funds or sponsorship. I love to dance and act, don't forget I studied performing arts. I am an embodiment of talents and I always love to be excellent in my endeavors. I am a Christian, an introvert, I love to listen to good music, love to learn new things and love to connect with people of like minds and creative people. I'm not a lover of sports except from watching athletes run, though I'd choose music over sports a million times. I don't have a favourite food, or should I say music is my favourite food cause it's the sweetest and healthiest food for the soul. That makes me a good cook, I believe you understand (Chuckles)
I am open to learning, outspoken, handsome, polite, calm, respectful, hardworking, optimistic, studious, intelligent, resilient, and open-minded. I also prioritize my personal hygiene.
Being proactive is one of my strengths because I love to pay attention to details and provide solutions to problems in a short period of time.
On Christmas Day evening in 2024, after singing at a show, one of the invited guests reached out to me and told me about Hive and how amazing it is. He said Hive is a place for talented people like me, and I will greatly benefit from such a platform and community, and to this end, my shoutout to @jjmusa2004 for onboarding me. I didn't hesitate because his description about Hive is something worth exploring into. I am excited about this journey, and I'm grateful to God to be alive to begin this amazing journey here on Hive, where I get to express myself musically and vocally, connect with people, get to inspire a lot of people, make people's hearts merry, encourage people with my craft, and also sing my heart out. It is said that "When words fail, try music.".
Music is therapeutic, and I am a wonder for you to behold.
