Life has a habit of throwing unexpected curve balls into the ordered daily routines of people's lives. Totally out of the blue happenings tend to knock people's socks off as they grapple with what has come from left field. Maybe it sounds familiar to you?
How well and how timely do we as individuals accept and move onto planning and coping with these unforeseen situation? Of course there is no set time as we progress from the accepting stage to action. It is all so indiviudal! But, of course the sooner one works through acceptance the quicker inner calm is reached which hopefully leads to positive self talk, emotions and attitudes.
Whatever works for you, whether it is dealing with it in the most rational way using psychology strategies or simply asking the universe what it is trying to teach you, we all perceive and deal with change as best we can.
Are any of us exempt from curve balls and unexpected happenings big and small? My answer is no. How many do we get in a lifetime? Maybe some individuals have more unforeseen occurrences than others. Does it depend on how well we learn each lesson to do with change?
Getting too comfortable is perhaps a red flag that a life upset is coming your way. Or perhaps not, I made that up! But it is something to think about.
My leave of absence from Hive over the last 10 weeks was due to my husband having to received medical treatment at one of the large hospitals in Brisbane. Feeling blessed that it was not a life threatening problem, more one that needed 40 sessions of healing. But, it meant living in Brisbane away from my retirement beach home during the week and driving home for the weekend to recoup and prepare for the next week.
While it was hectic and seemed to take forever on reflection it did not. The weeks went in a flash, an experience that has enhanced my life. My experiences confirm that we are never too old for curve balls and learning lessons. So I am guessing more are coming.
It was 10 weeks of adventure, exploring and meeting highly interesting people all of whom shared entertaining and memorable stories over many cups of coffee.
I found good coffee in the most unusual creative places as I walked and explored the surrounding streets around the hospital. One being this cute little coffee caravan.
I am very thankful to be back writing on Hive and reading as many posts as I can.
Sending everyone a big hello.
