Breakfast at "La Spiaggia"

We had a lovely surprise when visiting my Eldest daughter in Umhlanga Rocks, North of Durban on Saturday morning.

Hubby and I were treated by my daughter and son-in-law, to breakfast at the "La Spiaggia Restaurant", set on the Umhlanga Promenade Main Beach.

I think I might have found my little paradise on earth, second to Cape Town of course...after spending more and more time in Umhlanga, I could make it my permanent home...oh yes..I love Durban.

We parked in a parking area not far from the Promenade, then took a walk down to the Restaurant, admiring the buildings and shops on the way.

This little coffee and tea shop gave me a little bit of a chuckle, I've never heard of Bubble Tea before, I was soon to find out what it was, Lol!.

"Ben's Bubble Tea" is well known for their delicious iced teas and also cater for Halaal Vegan Options.
And if you don't like tea, they have Costa Coffee on the menu.

We walked towards the Bellezar, one of the popular Beach Café's and Bar on the Promenade.
I heard they serve a delicious menu from Burgers to fine dinning, food fit for a King.

Our destination was the La Spiaggia and that's where we headed for.

This little Italian gem has seating out side and inside (depending on the weather) over looking the ocean.
What a delightful place to sit and enjoy the Ocean view and relax, with the best food and drinks on the menu.

Little Sparrows danced around and chirped away happily under the chairs, searching for crumbs fed to them by the customers, unperturbed by the presence of humans and fury animals.

I love seeing people out and about with their fur children, these two were so well behaved.
The Restaurant even cater for them with their own little water bowls.
Being an animal lover, what more could one ask for than enjoy one's time with one's fur babies at an animal loving restaurant, over looking the Ocean...that!...I believe is living life to the fullest.

dinky dougnuts.jpg
"Dinky Donuts" parked on the side of the walk for the sweet-toothed, to catch a quick bite on their way to the beach.

A Minor Bird perched on the barrier pole deep in thought, enjoying the fresh sea air.

The Menu was quite a difficult one to choose from, they have such a huge variety of delicious food to satisfy those hunger pangs, which by now I was starving.

There's nothing more delicious than a grilled or fried piece of fresh fish and lovely crispy chips, worth every penny I might add, I've never had such a crispy and delicious piece of fried fish, not even in Cape Town.

Omg!...Umhlanga... here we come, my daughter is already rearranging her house for Mom and Dad to move in. Lol!.

Well...who knows what the future holds.

My son-in-law settled for Steak egg and Chips, which he said was devine, a meal fit for a King.

The clean beaches stretch for quite a few kilometers along the North coast of Umhlanga.

One can sit and enjoy the fresh sea breeze and admire the boats out at sea, and deep sea fisherman coming in from their early morning fishing spree.

It's truly wonderful and good for the soul.

"La Spiaggai" has become one of my favourite spots in Durban, will definitely be going back there for breakfast, the food is outstanding and the service so friendly and polite.

We made our way back to the car.

But...of course, Celeste wouldn't leave it there, she treated us to an "Italian Ice cream" as well.

What a lovely start to the day, it was unexpected and such a wonderful surprise.

I felt a great deal of strain as we walked up the steep pathway back to the car. My calves are hurting a bit today Hehe!.

I love the Modern Architecture in and around Umhlanga, reminds me of Cape Town along the West coast of South Africa.

We made our way back home after a very pleasant and awesome day in Umhlanga with the kids Haha!

I hope you have enjoyed our little excursion to Umhlanga Rocks as much as I've had sharing it with you.

Well, until next time, keep safe and enjoy life, because I am going to for sure Lol!
