Being retired most definitely has it's benefits.
One is free to get up and go when ever, where ever, how ever and time is of no essence.
We went on a little trip down the South Coast of Kwa Zulu Natal South Africa, and made some memories with a couple of our favourite friends.
We landed up on Kelso Beach, a lovely coastal holiday resort. It's one of Natal's unspoiled private beaches, and is famous for it's rock pools and Caravan Park.
Happy Wanderers Holiday Resort in Kelso, is a very popular sight for holiday makers, and has been in existence since 1963.
Well!...the Silver Haired Retirees took a stroll through the Ladies Bar and Restaurant admiring the old ship wreck that had been turned into a pub.
We were quite amused at some of the signs they had displayed on the ship walls.
Apparently, the ship was built in Knysna in 1957 and launched in Cape Town, it was then called The Heron.
Once her port days were over, she was left in an unsightly state and abandoned at the Bluff Yacht Club in Durban.
In 2004, the owners of the Happy Wonderers Holiday Resort, brought the boat back to the resort, refurbished her, giving her a new home and turning her into a pub, and giving her a new identity The Wrecked Heron Ladies Bar and Restaurant
One could sit inside the Restaurant, or outside on the Deck.
After collecting our drinks from the bar, we wandered outside to the beautiful view of the sea.
Beer for the men and Irish coffee for the ladies.
Oh!...it's so good to be free to enjoy this precious time breathing in fresh sea air, just relaxing and enjoying it with good friends.
It really is a good feeling.
We were admiring the scenery and chatting away, when we had the pleasure of two unexpected guests.
The one perched himself on the table next to us and he's partner danced around on the grass enticing him to join her.
The two Storks gracefully walked side by side and stopped directly in front of us.
They were about to give us a bit of a show off, so to speak.
Oh my word...did we get a show and a half from these two for a good 5 minutes, before they took off to entertain some other guests.
We sat and chattered for some time before making our way through the traffic and homeward bound.
It would be nice to come back in the near future and book into one of the log cabins, or, who knows sell everything and buy a caravan, park it in the Caravan Park, when one becomes bored, move along to Cape Town Lol!
Omg...dream, dream dream along Hehe!.
Well, that was a little trip down the South Coast, making some beautiful memories with my besties.
Thank you for allowing me to share them with you'll.
Until next time, be happy and stay safe.
