Happy start of the week, Hivers!
A new week that is shaping up to be a little less hectic around here, or at least I hope so. Last week was crazy at home. We had a plumbing repair. But to top it, we were on water rationing all week due to a major breakdown in one of the city's pumping systems, nothing new to be honest. So the house was a dusty mess.
We had to bring in the plumbers because we had a crack in one of the water heater pipes. We noticed it a couple of weeks ago when we started noticing moisture in the hallway of the rooms next to the water heater closet. On the spur of the moment, and because of the emergency, as we noticed in the middle of a weekend, the plumber patched the pipe. The patch worked, but we knew the plumbing needed to be replaced to avoid more problems in the future. When last Friday, they finally finished the job, which took a few days, the amount of dust in the house was not normal.
So on Saturday, when the water service, was regularized, we had an intensive day of cleaning. And then in the evening, despite the tiredness, we went to an event in one of the neighborhoods of the city. There were concerts in the streets and squares and different activities. And whenever I can, I love to enjoy those occasions when the streets of the city come alive and become more friendly to the citizens.
But all of the above led us to wake up yesterday exhausted from the week we had had.
We love to have a late breakfast on Sundays, but with the tiredness, we were not in the mood for cooking.
So we went to a bakery for breakfast.
We were in the mood for a creamy coffee. So we ordered a couple of cappuccinos and freshly squeezed orange juice.
And we had turkey and cheese sandwiches in batter. They were like French toast but stuffed. They were yummy and that gave us enough energy to get through the rest of the day in lazy mode.
Then I spent the day lying around watching Netflix and spoiling Milo. And I even took a nap.
Hubby was also in lazy mode, but he applied himself in the kitchen for a while. He made a Neapolitan sauce, one of his specialties. We had enough to eat linguini on the phone yesterday, I owe you the picture, hehe. And we have a good supply of sauce for the next few weeks.
And speaking of Milo the spoiled one, I haven't written about him here for some time. He has already been with us for two months. He is so energetic, mischievous, and an inquisitive cat. He is not afraid of almost anything and is very fearless.
The following job we have to do at home, after recovering from the work with the plumbers, is to put a mesh on the balcony since Milo has already gone out on it a couple of times when we are careless and left an open crack in the windows.
In the afternoon, he rests from the adventures. And is his favorite lazy time of the day.
He loves to be petted and gets on his belly for me to spoil him. And yesterday I did it for a long time, both of us lying on the sofa.
But because he is so curious and doesn't want to miss anything, he struggles to keep his eyes open until he falls into the arms of Morpheus. 😹
And so we spent yesterday afternoon on a lazy and sublime Sunday.
I wish you all a good and productive week:)
