A steaming cup of full-bodied medium-dark roast Italian Coffee or a cup of Green Tea filled with health benefits?
Temptation stares me in the face every time I open that cupboard. It's there for the taking so what is stopping me?
It's been eight days since my last cup of coffee and I'm REALLY feeling withdrawal symptoms.
Don't get me wrong, I I gave away a whole slab of chocolate this week, totally out of character for this chocoholic! Back to green tea vs plunger coffee; the irresistible coffee aroma usually comes wafting all the way down the passage early in the morning, readying my senses for that first cup. I add ginger, honey and turmeric at times, but it still has no appeal like that cup of coffee that I still am craving! My beloved coffee plunger sits forlorn in the cupboard, untouched! Avoiding reflux like a pest is why I'm depriving myself of all my favourite food and drinks. No potato fries, spicy food, no late night snacking while binge-watching tv series. Yep, GERD ain't no fun, brings on coughing spells which is extremely painful while recovering from abdominal surgery, so, my cravings can wait. As for recovering from the hernia mesh repair which was done eight days ago, each day is better, especially since tossing the poisonous pain meds that made me feel like death warmed up. It admittedly was necessary, but paracetamol helps take off the edge for a while at least. I'm still glued to the recliner for most of the day, binge-watching TV series, dozing off in between while the world keeps on turning. I am back to chatting, meeting and greeting guests, although briefly. And, I can at least pop into Hive on my cellphone to see what's happening in the Hive world! Pain vs painless, it's an easy choice, my cravings will have to wait! Tell me, what food or drink would you miss the most if it was forbidden? Postscript - these post merely are a kind of diary to look back on and keep track of my progress. JOIN Hive using my referral LINK Join our Silver Bloggers community
My last cappuccino just before the procedure
find found green tea very refreshing, and the best cuppa after binging on all the bad stuff, like chocolates for example, something else I've been craving, by the way.
Nothing like that with green tea!
I am starting to cook dinner, mostly delicious fresh vegetables and fish in my steamer. All the nourishing soups that my son ordered, are lunchtime meals.
