What is one of the best photographs you’ve ever taken? That's a tough question. I don't really have a best photo. I take lots of them but I don't think of them as technically good, sure I try to get things square and straight maybe some sort of edge or frame but I don't really over think things to much, just snap away and see what happens.
The Photo I have chosen is probably more one of my favorites than my best. We had not been together that long. My son was between jobs and got a week off, he headed straight to the snowy mountains with his snow board. I thought it would be good if we went as well. He drove straight through from Queensland in one hit, we needed a stop over and slept in the swag at South West Rocks on the mid coast of New South Wales.
It is hard to imagine that this was the middle of winter in Australia with the sun out and the water looking so inviting. I snapped the selfie right next to the Spirit Boat bench over looking Sting ray rocks and trial Bay. There is a fair bit of history to the area with an old convict gaol on the head lands in the distance. We did a quick walk around the gaol and did the local parkrun before driving on and making it to the snow and skiing with my son.
The more I see this photo the more I really think we need to revisit this location for longer time, just look at that sand, how clear the water is and hardly anyone around.
