Here are some images of the Columbia River Gorge during a winter drive through this scenic wonderland. I don't visit the gorge too much in the winter because the roads can become quite icy and dangerous. In this case we had plane tickets for a trip to Las Vegas so a trip down the gorge to Portland Oregon was mandatory. 😀

Since it was a gray day anyway and there wasn't much color I decided to show all these shots in black and white. Not my normal style but I thought it fit the mood of these pictures very well.
As a National Scenic Area about the only thing you will see in this area of the Gorge is water, trees and rocks. Just the way I like it. 🙂
These shots are from the Drano Lake area which is about 30 miles from the western boundary of the Gorge.
The Columbia River in this area is the dividing line between the US states of Washington and Oregon.
All of these shots are taken from HWY 14 on the Washington side of the river.
