With some amazing sights here in the middle of our winter in South Africa.
Oh yeah, I just can't get enough of the mountain views here as the range extends for many kilometers around the ocean bay.
But I try my best to get as much as I can on camera. We still have to visit the historical ox wagon tracks of the old mountain pass and apparently there are also some old canons, but it is a stringent walk and I cannot do so at this time because of my bad knee. Sooner or later I will get there to show you how the original pass was carved out of the gigantic rocks by the early settlers.
For now have a look below.
It seems that there was a fire here at one time or another before we arrived in the area, as you can see the white trees in the valley in the picture below.
So tomorrow I will post the aftermath of the most recent fire that we had here in the nature reserve.
Beautiful sights and it looks even better in spring and summer, but I love the winter shades that are enhanced by the clouds and the sky.
I can only wonder how many fires ravaged these areas over time and yet, nature always restores itself. It has an amazing resilience and the new growth returns double fold every time.
A sure lesson to us never to give in to our problems, but rather to return with a vengeance to show our strength to all.
I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.
And That's All Friends.
