The other day as I was driving, a car that was parked at the side of the road suddenly served into the road. I was startled, and just a few seconds later, the car slowed down and parked at the side of the road, just about maybe 50 meters where it was previously parked. The driver did not give any signal when it was coming into the road and when he decided to park at the side of the road again. I was quite infuriated and for the first time in my life, I showed him my finger middle. ( I am quite sure this is my first time doing this as far as I can recall.)
But then later on, I started thinking about what he might have been doing. Maybe his phone kept ringing in his pocket, so he had to pull over quickly and answer it? Or maybe he had an emergency and had to stop for some reason? And then maybe this person had a really important call and didn't want to miss it just because he parked 50 meters away from where he needed to be?
I feel much better when I realize that the driver is not doing this just to piss me off. In fact, I was shocked by my own behavior as normally I am an easy-going type of guy. I am now retired, my life is now at a more leisurely pace and I have practically no deadlines to meet. I asked myself " Why can't I be more chill? What is happening? Is my life too dry and humorless?
Humor is a very important aspect of our lives but many times we don’t realize it. Humor helps us in various ways like making our functioning smooth, improving relationships, and so on.
Smile whenever you see something humorous. Laughing and smiling releases endorphins in the brain which improve our mood and help us feel happy. We can also smile when we are talking to others or watching a movie. It will help us get better at laughing and smiling without needing external stimuli for it.

We should also learn to laugh at ourselves from time to time. Sometimes we take ourselves too seriously which makes life difficult for us and others around us. By learning to laugh at ourselves, we are able to have a better perspective of things that happen around us and we won’t take things too personally either. It will be easier to accept our mistakes and move forward with life instead of dwelling on them endlessly!
Laughter is an amazing medicine—it can make the worst situations seem not only bearable but actually fun. If you're dealing with a tough situation right now, why not try looking at it through the lens of humor? See if you can find something to laugh at. You'll be surprised that you feel much better. Make sure that you try to have a good laugh every day.
I will end my post with two jokes, a clean one and a dirty one. Why is laughter is the best medicine? Because it is free.
Are you ready for my dirty joke? The other day, I brought my dog for a walk. It got loose and rolled itself in the mud. Are you laughing? Ha, ha, my dog got DIRTY and that's my dirty joke.
Have a good laugh every day and your day will be better.
