Meet Ram Bhai - owner of a small tea center, having 180 items on the menu. During a recent dental appointment, we discovered this, as her uncle took her here to see this shop, that is famous in this locality. The shop is built under the stair case of another house, and barely has space to accommodate more than one person inside. And Ram bhai servers 180 items on the menu, from this place, imagine his creativeness and management skills.
These are the items on the menu, and there are some very interesting and funny teas that are served here : WINE Tea, WHISKEY TEA, IMMUNITY BOOSTER TEA, EXTRA POWER TEA, PREGNANCY TEA, BELA (wood apple) TEA etc. If you go through this menu, you would even wonder, how he managed to come up with so many varieties and I asked the same question to him. His simple answer was, he has developed these ideas from experience, over last three decades. The ingredients and preparation in the correct ratio is his trade secret, that has made him famous. And then some of the items are added just because of people's demand like HOT WATER, GLUCON D, JALJEERA WATER etc. Basically, he does not want anyone to return from his shop.
When he asked us what would we like to take, we told, you give something that you like. It's literally difficult to choose from your menu. He quickly prepared two ice coffees for us, and look at that.
Presentation sells fast, and he has that perfection from experience only, no formal education.
Taste is must to have in food items, and it was so tasty that we wanted to take it second time. She was literally delighted with the taste and went to ask him the ratio and quantity, but by then, there was no space left in front of his shop, as it was crowded by young college going kids.
Now she wants to go again just to drink this. And price is the most important factor, but if you look at the menu, you will notice, he has put some very competitive price, that is affordable.
And now let me tell you his life's twist that landed him here. He was from a very poor family, and in childhood, he went to Kolkata to work as a child labor, and managed to find out work in a tea stall, that was serving many types of tea. He served there for more than a decade and mastered the art of preparing different teas as well as found all details behind it. As he grew older, the owner gave him full authority to manage the business and he did that trustfully taking it to new heights. Then in 2000, he decided to come back and set up his own business and running this since then.
He does not have any formal education, but he can read lots of English words. Now he employs five people and earns a profit of 7-10k daily from this place. And look at the happiness at his face - always in welcome attitude - no tax, no stress, no disease .
Life always has something to offer, it may take lot of time, you may not get it when you want but patience and perseverance will make sure you will board the train one fine day.
