How would you describe your faith journey?

Greetings to all! Being a part of the #memoirmonday, its quite interesting to read the journey of others, through the initiative driven by @ericvancewalton

Coming to this week's initiative about your faith journey, I do have stories to share.

Iam a God fearing person. Being a true muslim, I have lived with in my faith until now and wish to be the same inthe future also.

Holy Mosque of Madinah, where we visit once a while when in KSA

To begin with, in my childhood and throughout my school days I lived in a place where muslims were very less, to say, just in countable numbers, among the 1400 families roughly.

This has definitely affected our religious part. My prayer was iŕregular and recitation of my holy book, was just for name sake. As though someone forcing to do. This continued on until my completion of Degree.

After three years of my graduation I got married to a person from my native state. My better half was then working in the middle east. After an year of marriage, I left my country to join my husband. That came as a blessing for me in the ritual part.

I was happy to step my foot in the holy land of Makkah and Madinah. My transition as a pious person starts from here. My dress code also changed covering myself from head to toe. A true believer.

I believed and prayed sincerely, especially when something goes wrong. I always felt that conversation with Almighty was important and trust me even today I do that from my heart. And by his grace, each time I used to turn to him when I faced any severe issues, I used to get a peaceful solution. So, I always felt conversation with Almighty was the better way to overcome my pain.

Let me narrate an incident which took place in the severe state of covid at our place. It was a lockdown period and it was the holy month of fasting. One evening, on the 3rd day of Ramadan, I had a call from my house, saying father having a stomach ache. At first we thought it should be indigestion or acidity because he too was fasting.

The covid was at its peak and the complete town was under lock down. Even commuting became difficult. We were not allowed to move out of our home unless and until it was a case of urgency. Public transports stopped plying. If we are to use our private vehicle, we have to take the permission from the concerned authorities, after giving a written request.

Back to the medical issue of my father, though at first we felt it was acidity or indigestion, the situation started getting worse day by day, because he started getting stomach pain and fever. But this occurred mostly at night. I was not in a position to go out from here and my father was not in a position to reach the city hospital. The condition worsened and forcefully with the help of a cousin he was reached to the nearby hospital and here', we created some medical certificate and with the permission from the police we reached the same hospital.

I met my Dad after a period of three months (due to lockdown). The Doctor after a thorough check up, said he has to be hospitalized immediately failing which can result in bad consequences. He was diagnosed with severe Puss in the gall bladder. And medicine cannot cure and operation is the last option, which meant the gall bladder should be removed immediately.

The Doctor also mentioned as he was above 80, chances of risk was more. But then no other option. When I informed my brother and sister who are in two different countries, they were on the verge of tears as all the flights stood cancelled. With a heavy heart, they asked us to go ahead with the operation.

The hospital authorities allowed only one person to standby with the patient. My husband took over. He asked me to leave the hospital at once. The operation was scheduled to be held after a week's time, as he was on antibiotics.

That one week I can never forget in my lifetime. I spent more time on prayers, keeping all my faith in the Almighty. It was not only me but the whole family. The said date arrived, and I was told by my Doctor friend that this operation takes a maximum of 2 to 3 hrs. only. But even after 3 hrs., then 4 hrs. nobody came out from the operation theatre.

Atlast, after 4 hrs and 45 minutes the Doctor came out to inform us, it was such a risk and that's why so much time taken. But he is fine. It was also one of the most happiest moment in our lives. We thanked Almighty. Now, its more than 3 years since the operation took place.

Somethings cannot be told , the happiness and pain should be experienced, to know the exact feeling. This is when we become more attached to Almighty and whereby faith increases.

Its a bit lengthy article, I know. But this is just one of the experience I had, where my faith became even more stronger.

Thankyou so much for your patient visit. The photos are mine taken 8 years back in the holy mosque, Madinah. A time which I really wish to go back with my hubby and kids
