Good evening everyone. I am from the Philippines and am currently studying chicken farming. It has been a year since I started this hobby, but I still find it amazing and adventurous to see the evolution of these chickens. I would like to participate in #Smap
Initially, I put the eggs in the incubator, but when I found out that these hens were brooding these eggs, I gave them the chance to be good mothers because before there was this chicken who kept on pecking her eggs until they broke and it was a waste.
After 21 to 25 days, there were 2 eggs that were hatched since then the mother hen does not sit with her other eggs anymore so we decided to put the other eggs in the incubator. There was one hen who had been looking for her eggs and though it was sad for us to take those eggs it was for the better because they might be pecked by the other chicken.
Since then, the other hen has joined together with the other hen like a she was like pseudo-mother. Once they were hatched, we grouped them with their hens. Luckily, they were not attacked by these hens but they were easily accepted especially by the pseudo-mother hen. ❤️
This one was the pseudo-mother who easily accepted the new chicks and hiding 3 of them under her wings. By the way, I have 4 chicks right now.
This one has been a true mother to her eggs until they were chicks. The chick hid under her wings to feel warm. The chick looked like it has a black eye because it was attacked by our rooster.
