Era un viernes 4:00 p.m justo antes de salir de la oficina cuando recibo una llamada de mi prima, invitándome a dar un corto paseo junto a sus dos loros, sus mascotas verdes. Acepté con agrado la invitación. Aún cuando sabía que andaría de paseo con los loros, cuando me subí al carro estaba algo temerosa.
It was a Friday at 4:00 p.m. just before leaving the office when I received a call from my cousin, inviting me to take a short walk with her two parrots, her green pets. I gladly accepted the invitation. Even though I knew that I would go for a walk with the parrots, when I got in the car I was somewhat fearful.
Estos loros, están amaestrado, son las mascotas consentidas de mi prima, ella los cuida mucho, se han vueltos sus compañeros de vida. El loro macho tiene 36 años con ella, de hecho fue un regalo de cumpleaños y la hembra tiene 25 años.
These parrots are trained, they are my cousin's spoiled pets, she takes great care of them, they have become her life companions. The male parrot has been with her for 36 years, in fact it was a birthday present from her and her female is 25 years old.
Poco a poco acepté que se me acercaran e inclusive permití que se colocarán en mi hombros, las uñas en mi hombro me daban como escalofríos. Lo maravilloso, es como mi prima les habla y ellos gentilmente le obedecen, yo impactada ante tan hermosa relación.
Little by little I accepted that they approached me and I even allowed them to be placed on my shoulders, the nails on my shoulder gave me chills. The wonderful thing is how my cousin speaks to them and they gently obey her, I am shocked by such a beautiful relationship.
Mientras los loros se paseaban en mis piernas, disfrutaba de lo perfecto que son, la degrades del color verde en su plumaje, lo perfecto de la forma de sus picos. El cómo se sostienen usando sus patas, lo domesticado que están es fascinante. ¡Ah! Ese toque de plumas amarillas y azules es un contraste hermosamente luminoso.
While the parrots walked on my legs, I enjoyed how perfect they are, the shades of green in their plumage, the perfect shape of their beaks. How they support themselves using their legs, how tame they are is fascinating. Oh! That hint of yellow and blue feathers is a beautifully luminous contrast.
Teníamos el sol de frente, lograr unas buenas fotos me costó mucho, aparte que mi temor sutil por los loros encima de mí no me dejaba fluir con mucha libertad. En las fotos se puede apreciar lo domesticado y dulce que están estas hermosas mascotas verdes.
We had the sun in front of us, it was very difficult for me to get good photos, apart from my subtle fear of the parrots above me, which did not allow me to flow freely. In the photos you can see how tame and sweet these beautiful green pets are.
Mi amada prima es súper feliz con sus loros, los lleva con ella casi siempre, van con ella a la playa, al supermercado, a hacer visitas, los lleva de viaje. Ella carga su bolso de implementos, agua, alimentos, juguetes, sábanas, entre otros, es tal cual como el bolso de un bebé. Es admirable tanto esmero y cuidado.
My beloved cousin is super happy with her parrots, she takes them with her almost always, they go with her to the beach, to the supermarket, to visit, she takes them on trips. She carries her bag of supplies, water, food, toys, sheets, among others, it is just like a baby's bag. She is admirable so much dedication and care.
Quise compartir con Uds., esta experiencia, ver que si es posible tener cerca a estas mascotas y no ser atacados por ellos. Escuchar como a través de su canto conversan e inclusive se hacen entender, es que mi prima con sus cuidados y atención los ha domesticado, los ha humanizado, al tal punto que son inofensivos y muy alegres.
I wanted to share this experience with you, to see if it is possible to be close to these pets and not be attacked by them. Listening to how through their singing they talk and even make themselves understood, is that my cousin, with her care and attention, has tamed them, has humanized them, to the point that they are harmless and very happy.
