I believe these ducks are American Wigeons- though the iridescent green masks on the males are not visible, possibly because of the angle of the setting sun. As per Bird (2016), they have the distinct markings of the Wigeon with long pointed tail, brown flanks with dashes of white, a green band reaching around their necks, and a light masterful crown on the males. The females have bashful dark eyes, soft brown breasts, and stylish black lines on the bill. Apparently, they like to hang out with other diving birds for the opportunity to snatch some food like aquatic plants or crabs.
The water was nice and clear as they floated along the waves to some unknown destination in the sun.
